Blue Lock Season 2 Shows Exactly Why It Deserves a Season 3:
My favorite parts of Blue Lock season 2 were the last two episodes, which reminded me why I loved the sports shonen genre in the first place. I’m not really into sports, but the simple but captivating story of average high school students competing to be the best soccer players in Japan, the amazing character growth, and the characters’ ability to keep their cool under pressure kept me watching, and all of these things came together in the finale. Some people say that Blue Lock shouldn’t have a season 3, but the ending made me even surer that I want it to.
There are things I hope will be better in later seasons, especially the animation. If it takes years to get season three, I wouldn’t mind. Season 2 ended on a mystery cliffhanger that introduced one of the best characters in the manga. I think that season three could be even better than the first two if the artists and writers are given a lot of time to work on it. Unfortunately, no show is perfect. However, Blue Lock season 2 got me interested in soccer, even though I’m not usually into sports. For that reason, I think any anime fan should give it a watch.
