What Really Happened in The Gilded Age Season 3?
A war of opera houses was fought and won by Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon), who won over a lot of old money people to the Metropolitan Opera. Marian, played by Louisa Jacobson, got a second marriage proposal from Dashiel Montgomery, played by David Furr. She didn’t love Montgomery. In the end, she said no to him. Peggy Scott (Denée Benton), a reporter, kept things going, but she fell in love with T. Thomas Fortune (Sullivan Jones), the head editor of The Globe newspaper, who she wasn’t supposed to be with. Ada Brook, played by Cynthia Nixon, met Reverend Luke Forte, played by Robert Sean Leonard), fell in love with him, and married him. But he was later diagnosed with cancer and died. Oscar van Rhijn (Blake Ritson), a gambler, lost his mother’s money to Maude Beaton (Nicole Brydon Bloom). This made his mother Agnes (Christine Baranski) and Ada switch roles when Ada got money from her late husband. When Larry Russell (Harry Richardson) kissed Marian at the end of Season 3, she felt better. Larry was also interested in Jack Trotter’s (Ben Ahlers) clock idea.
