DanMachi (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) has been picked up by HIDIVE for its highly anticipated season 5. This will be one of the most exciting seasons of the fan-favorite fantasy-action anime to date.
According to a press statement, HIDIVE will show DanMachi Season 5 at the same time as the Fall 2024 anime season later this year. In addition to the U.S. and Canada, the show will also be streamed in the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. In honor of the 10th anniversary of both the light book series and the anime in 2025, HIDIVE has released the first-ever English-subtitled trailer for DanMachi Season 5. Fans can watch it below, along with new official artwork for the show.
President of HIDIVE John Ledford was happy about the deal and said, “We’re thrilled to report that DanMachi—Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? comes back to HIDIVE this fall for a much-anticipated season 5. We’re happy to have been a part of the long history and success of this hugely popular anime series since it began in 2015. So, the start of Season 5 will really be a party—a get-together before the anime’s 10th anniversary in April of next year. Fans, both new and old, should watch all seasons 4 of DanMachi in one sitting before Season 5 starts!”
HIDIVE Adds DanMachi Season 5 and Oshi no Ko Season 2 Lineup:
DanMachi Season 5 will be available during the Summer 2024 anime season, along with other shows recently licensed by HIDIVE, such as Oshi no Ko (which will be back for Season 2), Plus-Sized Elf, and I Parry Everything. Whisper Me a Love Song and the famous anime Jellyfish Can’t Swim at Night are both streaming on the platform right now. In fact, Animate Times, one of Japan’s biggest anime news sites, just picked Jellyfish Can’t Swim at Night as one of the best anime to watch in Spring 2024.

What to Expect From DanMachi Season 5:
At the event for the anime’s 10th anniversary, it was revealed that Season 5 is already being made. The film we got was both a teaser and an announcement. That’s it. No release dates or staff or group names, but those won’t change after 4 seasons, do they? That being said, it’s likely that JC Staff will make the series again.
