Meta announced on Sunday that Threads, its social network, now has 275 million monthly active users (MAUs).
“Every month, more than 275 million people use @Threads. Thanks to everyone who has helped us so far. Adam Mosseri, who runs Threads and Instagram for Meta, said, “There’s a lot more to do and a lot of things to fix, but there’s something exciting about this place.”
When it started in July 2023, Threads was meant to take advantage of the millions of users who were leaving X after Elon Musk bought it. It quickly gained users and is now one of the biggest text-only social networks. The app had 150 million MAUs in April and 200 million MAUs in August. That’s an increase of 75 million MAUs in just three months.
During Meta’s Q3 2024 post-results conference call last week, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that every day a million people sign up for Threads.

Even though the number of new users on the site is going up, Threads is having some moderation problems that are making users angry.
