Even though The Penguin ssaeon 2 run on HBO ended last year, rumors have been going around for a while that it might be back for a second season that wasn’t originally planned. These rumors are getting stronger again now that the show has been nominated for several Emmys.

Will the limited series with Colin Farrell as thief Oz Cobb who climbs the ladder run for longer? The stars and creators of The Batman spinoff have said a lot of interesting things since Season 1 ended and the Emmy nominations. Here’s what we know so far about the chance. Scroll down for a better look, and check back for any possible information on what will happen with The Penguin.

Will The Penguin Return for Season 2?

The Penguin’s ending left the fan-favorite bad guy with no way to change, so Farrell is right to be skeptical about the character’s growth in a possible second season. Fans will still be there in a hurry for another season, Warner Bros. Television Group Chairman and CEO Channing Dungey has said before, “Getting the movie going is the most important thing Matt is working on right now.” I think they’re getting better there. I know that he and Lauren, who runs the show, have talked about different ideas. So, is there going to be another chapter? Certainly possible. For Matt right now, I think the movie is the most important thing. But I know Lauren is thinking of different ideas that could work with the show. It seems possible to me. Right now I just don’t know.”

The Batman: Part II is set to come out in 2027, so it looks like The Penguin will still be around for a while. Keep an eye on Collider for more news like this.

Cast of The Penguin Season 2:

Who will be in The Penguin season 2? It’s possible that Colin Farrell would play the title character again in a The Penguin season 2. A big part of what makes the show fun is how Farrell changes into Cobblepot, so his comeback is necessary. Cristin Milioti, who plays Sofia Falcone, is another possible cast member who will be back. Victor “Vic” Aguilar won’t be able to come back because we saw Oz choke him to death. We’re not counting on him coming back, but he might in memories.

To sum up, The Penguin was supposed to be a limited series. However, the demand for more stories about Batman’s bad guy may convince HBO and Warner Bros. to give it a second season. As each day goes by, we grow more and more excited, so it may only be a matter of time before we hear the news, good or bad. We really hope it gets picked up because it would let the writers explore more of Gotham’s dark side and Oz Cobb’s personality. At this point, all we can do is hope that the executives see the value in making Penguin’s story longer.

What Do the Creators Say About The Penguin Season 2?

Before the show went live to the public, we asked executive producers Matt Reeves and Dylan Clark about Sofia (Cristin Milioti)’s cliffhanger finish in Season 1, where she ended up back in Arkham after Oz set her up. When Sofia went back to prison, she got a letter from her half-sister Selina Kyle (Zoë Kravitz), which made me think that the characters might meet again. Although this seemed like a possible way to lead into Sofia’s appearance in the upcoming Batman movie, Reeves made it clear that hidden Easter eggs weren’t part of the team’s plan.

“None of that is meant to leave you on the edge of your seat so you can’t sleep.” It’s more like, “Hey, this is part of what makes reading all of these stories feel like going on this huge journey,” which I think for us is about changing points of view. The point is to understand,” Reeves says.

Clark says, “We want people to want more shows from us.” We think these big-name figures should each have their own long-form story. We might get to do that if we’re lucky.

To put it another way, a The Penguin season 2 wasn’t the original plan, but things are starting to change. Clark told TV Line on the red carpet at the Golden Globes that there are “quiet conversations” going on about a second season. And Clark said, “If we could come up with an idea for what a second season might be, there’s a chance that [HBO CEO] Casey Bloys and the HBO team would want to go after that.”

Reeves had told Variety before that he was talking with Lauren LeFranc, who runs the show, “about doing another season.”

Bloys told Variety recently, after the Emmy nods that “getting the movie going” is the most important thing for Matt Reeves right now. He said this about the project that will be the sequel to Batman: “I think they’re making progress there.” “I know that he and Lauren LeFranc, who runs the show, have talked about different ideas.” So, is there going to be another chapter? Certainly possible. For Matt right now, I think the movie is the most important thing. But I know Lauren is thinking of different ideas that could work with the show. It seems possible to me. At this point, I just don’t know.

If you asked Milioti about Sofia after she was nominated for an Emmy, she would say, “I really want to see more of [her],” which suggests she would be open to a return. When asked about a possible Season 2, Milioti said on the Today Show, “I’m hopeful for one, we haven’t heard anything.”

There is hope for Season 2, but we won’t say for sure until we hear whether it gets the go-ahead or not. Thanks for reading. Please let us know in the comments if you’d like to see The Penguin season 2.
