To remind you, Sweet Magnolias season 5 was confirmed to start on WorldBook Day 2025, which is a few months after Season 4’s launch on Netflix in February. We said in our story about the renewal that season 4’s viewership had dropped by about 16% from season 3 to season 4. It also only stayed in Netflix’s world Top 10 for two weeks, compared to four weeks for Season 3 and five weeks for Season 2.
There wasn’t much information available about the revival. The only solid information about the new season is that it will again have 10 episodes.
Sweet Magnolias season 5 going to be the last one? There is no news about that right now, and there is also no evidence that it is true right now. That being said, as we said with the viewing numbers, the show has been going down, so it wouldn’t surprise us if it starts to come to an end.

The Big Apple is waiting for you! At the end of Season 4, the shocking news came out that Maddie is leaving Serenity to play a different role. That will be the main plot point of season 5, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other stories going on in Serenity…

The Big Move of Maddie:
- Maddie agrees to work as a marketer in New York City.
- Makes me wonder about her future in Serenity and the possibility of time skips to learn more about how families work.
- Anderson said, “Our ladies have seen each other through bigger challenges than physical distance.” He was asked if the big job move meant the end of the Magnolias. You want the best for someone you love and want to help them get there. True friends cheer each other on when they win, encourage each other to follow their dreams, and then join forces to work out the details.
Plans for Helen’s wedding:
- Helen and Erik are now engaged, which means their wedding will be very exciting and well-planned.

The producer told TUDUM, “We are thrilled to let the Magnolias take Manhattan.” This was a hint at the story. This adventure is not only a lot of fun, but it also gives them a chance to look at their connections in a new way. There are also hints that season 5 will have the “most romance” of any new season. JoAnna GarcÃa Swisher told US Weekly, „As always, it’s a wild ride, but I think this is the first season in a long time that fans will feel those butterflies again.
Sweet Magnolias Season 5: Full Cast List Revealed:
Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who has been in The Sopranos and Entourage, plays Nell Winters, a famous writer that Maddie meets in New York and becomes friends with.
Courtney Sinclair, Ronnie’s eager new business partner, is played by Courtney Grace, who has been in Law & Order: SVU and The Blacklist.
Dream Island and If Loving You Is Wrong star John Gabriel Rodriquez as Clark Bellson, a rival business owner in Serenity who gives the Magnolias new problems to solve.
Noah Wharton, the Whartons’ grandson, is played by Aidan Merwarth (Euphoria, Creepshow), and Blake Monaghan is played by Austin Woods (The Originals, Swagger). Both of these actors make things more difficult for the Mini Magnolias.
Iman Benson (The Midnight Club, #BlackAF) also joins as Erik’s niece Jessica Whitley, who comes to Erik and Helen with some bad news. Janice Wesley, who has been in “The Resident” and “Dopesick,” plays Miss Eustice, a well-liked town mother in Serenity.

When Is Sweet Magnolias Season 5 Coming to Netflix?
At this point, there is no clear window or date, but we can rule out a return in 2025.

Is Sweet Magnolias Coming Back for Season 6?
It’s a little too early to talk about renewals for season 6, but since the number of people is going down, it’s possible that the show will end soon.
According to JoAnna Garcia Swisher, who spoke to US Weekly, there might be more after Sweet Magnolias season 5. She said, “I don’t think that it’s written as the end by any stretch of the imagination.” But we’ve also been able to stay here for five seasons and tell an amazing story. “If this is it for us, we have no control over it; we’re just doing what we think our fans will enjoy,” they said. For a fresh start in season 4, we almost had to burn it down by killing Bill. You really get that this season. That means fun and new projects, opportunities, and connections. There are a lot of turns and twists.
