With the return of Peacock’s popular series Poker Face season 2, Natasha Lyonne’s character Charlie Cale is back to her bulls**t.
Quite literally, if you consider it, considering the character’s special ability to consistently detect foul lies each and every week. The basic idea of Poker Face season 2 episodes is still the same, even though the reason for Charlie’s fugitive status has slightly changed: our protagonist travels the country uncovering well-planned murders, whether intentional or not, while running into a remarkable array of A-list celebrities.
In the production notes, showrunner and executive producer Tony Tost states, “This season, she embarks on a bit of an existential road trip, while still traveling from place to place, exploring what it’s like, emotionally and psychologically.”
Lyonne, a writer, director, and executive producer, continues, “She’s not exactly the same Charlie from Season 1, who maybe thought of herself as a lone wolf.” “She really is now.”

A few days later, Jason Ritter (Matlock), Melanie Lynskey (Yellowjackets), Alia Shawkat (The Old Man), Carol Kane (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), and David Krumholtz (The Deuce) joined the cast, adding even more celebrities. David Alan Grier (St. Denis Medical), Richard Kind (Only Murders in the Building), Lili Taylor (Outer Range), Natasha Leggero (Another Period), and Lauren Tom (Futurama) joined the group later in February.
That’s enough guest stars, don’t you think? It’s not because in March, Geraldine Viswanathan (Miracle Workers) and Taylor Schilling and Adrienne C. Moore, who both costarred with Lyonne on Orange Is the New Black, signed on for Season 2. Additionally, it was reported that Simon Helberg from The Big Bang Theory and Rhea Perlman from Cheers would return to their Season 1 roles.
Poker Face Season 2: Total Episode Count Revealed:
There are 12 episodes in Poker Face season 2, which is two more than in Season 1. Peacock is now the only place to stream the first four episodes of the new season. The remaining episodes will be released every Thursday.
What Can We Expect in Poker Face Season 2?
Knives Out creator Rian Johnson created Poker Face, a (mostly) non-serialized show that pays homage to classic mystery-of-the-week shows like Columbo and The Rockford Files. It revolves around Charlie Cale, a woman who travels the nation solving murders using her extraordinary talent for spotting dishonesty. Using Columbo’s inverted “howdunit” approach, each episode begins with the crime being committed before Charlie comes in to establish the guilt of the offenders.
