It’s been on Meta’s test for months now to let people post from Instagram and Facebook to Threads, its social networking site that competes with X (formerly known as Twitter). Meta confirmed to TechCrunch that the function is now available in all countries where Threads is available.
Because Meta wants to get the most out of the information people share on its family of apps, it has added the ability to cross-post. Meta has been letting people who use both Instagram and Facebook share posts from Facebook to Instagram and Instagram posts to Facebook for years now. Also, in 2023, the company tried out cross-posting when it showed suggested Threads posts on both Instagram and Facebook. (This choice can now be turned off.)
Bringing Threads closer to Meta’s larger app ecosystem and its billions of users could also help the app get even more popular. It just passed 200 million daily users.
Tips On How To Post Photos From Instagram To Threads
Cross-posting is a new feature on Instagram that was first tested in early May. Users must choose to use it by turning on the Threads sharing button when they share an image. When people cross-post their Instagram posts to Threads, the description changes to text and the hashtags become plain text.
The cross-post feature can be used just once, or users can set it up to automatically share to Threads every time. The tool can be used by anyone in the world on both iOS and Android devices. But there’s no way to post from Instagram Reels to Threads.
How To Post From Threads To Facebook At The Same Time
Late in February, Facebook users began getting tests of Threads cross-posting. Users can turn on the Threads option when they are making a post, just like they can turn on the Instagram cross-posting option. Users should see the Threads logo at the top, next to choices like “Only Me” and “Add an Album.” The logo should be either “On” or “Off.”
This function is only for text and link posts; it doesn’t work for videos. The tool works on both Android and iOS, and it’s available everywhere Threads is used.
Why Would You Want To Cross-post?
It would be helpful for content makers, social media managers, and business owners to be able to cross-post from Instagram and Facebook to Threads. This would save them time and effort. They don’t have to make new content for each site because they can use the same post to reach more than one audience at the same time.

But you should think about whether or not putting the same content on different platforms is the best idea for some posts, since they might not work well on all of them. Say you have a post on Instagram with a lot of hashtags. It might look weird on Threads because it will just be text. Though Threads has tags, they don’t use the hash sign.
