Since TikTok’s future in the U.S. is unclear, it seems like the big social networks are working extra hard to add features that will make millions of people want to switch: Bluesky said on Sunday that its app will soon have a custom feed for vertical movies.
You can now find popular videos in Bluesky’s mobile app’s Explore tab. You can swipe up to see more videos, just like in any other short video app. You can pin the feed to your home screen or add it to your list of feeds.
“We had to join the video fun too—Bluesky now has video feeds that are just right for them!” You can pin these just like any other feed. “Bluesky is yours to change,” the business said in a post.
Bluesky also thanked the people who are making TikTok alternatives on AT system, which is the decentralized system that Bluesky is based on. Examples include Tik.Blue, Skylight.Social, and Bluescreen.Blue. In the early stages of development, these apps are being tested by a small group of people.
While TikTok and other ByteDance apps like CapCut, Lemon8, and Marvel Snap aren’t sure what will happen, Bluesky has seen an increase in users and over the weekend reached 28 million.

A lot of other social networks are also taking advantage of this. X, which is owned by Elon Musk, also added a feed just for vertical videos in the U.S., and Meta announced Edits, a new video editing app that will compete with CapCut.
