Even though the show started four years ago, Your Honour keeps winning. The first season of the exciting crime thriller on Showtime, which starred Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad, was a big hit. The show was originally planned as a limited series, but it was brought back for a successful second season that started in 2023. This was done after the idea inspired other artists in different parts of the world, leading to the creation of several remakes. The show was just added to Netflix, and every time it has been on, it has won. The most watched show was Your Honour, which beat out famous Netflix originals like Bridgerton.
Because of its recent popularity, there are now rumours of Your Honor Season 3. There might be a third season. Deadline asked David Stapf, the head of CBS Studios, about it. Production Company for the show was CBS Studios. Reboots of shows that do well on other platforms are becoming more popular. It was a good sign when Stapf said, “We love the show and we hope that it can continue.” But he quickly told fans not to get their hopes up, saying “but it’s a little too soon to know or to tell.” Stapf didn’t say what problems might be in the way of Your Honor Season 3, but he did say that CBS Studios wants Your Honor Season 3 to happen, but they’re still a long way off.
What Netflix Say’s About Your Honor Season 3:
The run of “Your Honour” on Netflix has been amazing and totally surprising. It has been in the Top 10 list every day since it came out on May 31, which is almost two months ago. I don’t think any other show, not even Bridgerton, has been on that list longer during that time.
The first show on Showtime only lasted two seasons and aired at the same time as Dexter, a much better-known show. But it has done so well that Showtime/CBS says it may lead to a third season.
David Stapf, the head of CBS Studios, talked about Your Honour and how well it did in an interview with Deadline. He said that the show might be brought back for Your Honor season 3:
“We love the show, and we’re hoping that it can continue,” he said. “But it’s not quite time to know or tell yet.” We’d love for there to be a third season, but it’s still a long way off.
That has to do with both an idea for Your Honor season 3 and Bryan Cranston’s availability for the show’s big star part, which will be his biggest since Breaking Bad.
What’s the Storyline of Your Honor?
Bruce Cranston plays Judge Michael Desiato in Your Honour. He is a New Orleans judge with a lot of experience. He’s proud of how fair and strict he is as a judge. When his son, Michael Desiato (Hunter Doohan), is in a hit-and-run accident that kills someone, tragedy strikes close to home. He has to lie and plan to keep his son out of jail when he finds out that the victim is Rocco Baxter, the son of the powerful Baxter crime family.
When Season 2 starts, Judge Desiato is called back from jail to help a new DA build a case against the Baxters. The judge finds out that his family and the Baxters are connected in ways he never thought possible. The second season was well accepted, even though it wasn’t supposed to happen at first. Some loose ends were tied off in the show, but other storylines were left unfinished. It would be fun to see how those were resolved in a third season.
Cranston, Doohan, Lili Kay, Hope Davis, Michael Stuhlbarg, Carmen Ejogo, Jimi Stanton, Mark Margolis, Chet Hanks, Ciara Renee, Andre Ward-Hammond, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Tony Curran, and Benjamin Flores Jr. are some of the actors who are in Your Honour.
What Happened at the end of Season 2 of Your Honor?
As the second season goes on, Desiato’s role in organized crime grows even more. The former judge, who is now in jail, works with Assistant U.S. Attorney Olivia Delmont (Rosie Perez) to catch Baxter. Desiato tells Detective Costello (Amy Landecker) the truth, but Delmont hides it. Instead, he comes up with a plan to send Desiato to prison for tax cheating so Baxter won’t think Desiato was the one who told on him.
The show starts when Desiato gets out of jail and gets more involved with lies from the past and the present. He also gets closer to the Baxter family, which is unsettling, and in the season end, he reaches a breaking point in court.
When Desiato has to witness against Eugene for Adam’s murder, he tells the truth about everything: how Adam killed Baxter’s son in a hit-and-run and then tried to hide it; also about the web of lies that killed Kofi and then Eugene’s mother.
At the same time, Baxter is shot and taken to the hospital after his wife Gina (Hope Davis) tells her father, Carmine (Mark Margolis), a powerful mob boss who is growing angry at Baxter, to kill him. After that, Gina has her dad arrested for the crime, which gives her full power over the crime group.
At the end of the season, Desiato goes back to jail for crimes he did commit, but he’s okay with his situation.

What’s the Status of Your Honor Season 3?
Fans are still holding out hope for Your Honor Season 3, even though it hasn’t been picked up yet. In April 2023, Cranston told Deadline that it wasn’t completely impossible.
It’s being talked about. “Showtime has shown interest, and we’re proud to say that every episode of Season 2 had more viewers than the week before,” the actor said, adding that he’d “be very interested in producing that.”
Even though Cranston has said he wants to be a part of the project, that doesn’t mean his character will be. The actor said that he would only play Desiato again if the season showed what it’s really like for a father to lose his kid.
To quote Cranston, “This guy, if this really happened and you lost a child, it changes your life forever.” “So if you really want to show a man in complete despair, let’s do it if there is any chance of a better life.” “But it has to be found little by little,” and Showtime was ready to do that.
David Stapf, head of CBS Studios, told Deadline in July 2024 that he was excited about and ready to see a third season. However, he also said that even if it does happen, it will probably be later than fans had hoped.
“We really enjoy the show and hope it stays on, but it’s still too early to say for sure,” Stapf said. “We’d like there to be a third season, but it’s still a long way off.”
There has been no public word about Your Honor Season 3.
Your Honor Was Initially Planned as a Limited Series
It’s mostly because the show wasn’t meant to have more than one season in the first place that Your Honour never made it to Your Honor Season 3. Although Peter Moffat turned the show into an American TV show, Your Honour was first thought of, written, and made as a limited series. What would become “season 1” was supposed to be the beginning and end of the story. There were no plans to continue after the ending.
Your Honour was never supposed to go past season 1, so it wasn’t a surprise that there wasn’t a third season revealed after season 2 ended.
Cranston, who is also an executive producer on the show, says that the very high numbers for the first season are the main reason why Showtime chose to give Your Honour a second season. But he would only come back if season 2 properly showed how his character felt after his son died at the end of season 1.
Before the 2022 season 2 opening, Cranston talked about the show on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast. “If this really happened and you lost a child, it changes your life forever.” “Let’s do it if you really want to show a man in complete despair where there is hope for a better life.” But it has to be found one step at a time.”
Before season 2 even started, Cranston said in this 2022 interview that this would be the last season of Your Honour. Your Honour was never supposed to go past season 1, so it wasn’t a surprise that a third season wasn’t revealed until after season 2 ended.
Season 2 of Your Honor Falls Short in TV Ratings Compared to Season 1
The lower numbers in season 2 are another reason why Your Honour did not get a third season. According to Showbuzz Daily, season 1 of Your Honour had an average of 590,500 viewers per episode each week (0.081 Nielsen rating), but season 2 only had an average of 510,000 viewers per episode each week (0.049 Nielsen rating). The drop in watchers wasn’t huge, but it was enough to show that people were less interested.
When the numbers dropped for season 2, it was even more proof that not going for a third season was the right choice.
Showtime probably wasn’t going to renew Your Honour for a third season, even if season 2 did well. That’s because there was never meant to be a second season in the first place. So, when the numbers dropped for season 2, it was even more proof that not going with a third season was the right choice. If season 2’s numbers were as good as or better than season 1, Showtime might have tried to order a third season. But since the show was first planned as a special, this is still a long shot.
What Bryan Cranston Has Shared About Your Honor Season 3 Plans?
A month after the season 2 end of Your Honour aired in March 2023, Cranston explained what he meant when he said on Armchair Expert the year before that he didn’t think there would be a third season. He told Deadline, “There is some talk.” “Showtime has indicated there is interest.” He meant that he wasn’t sure if there “could be” or, more accurately, should be another season of Your Honour because of how the story finished. “If it happens, fantastic,” he said, “but it’d have to be some great reason to keep expanding in this world.”
Since Cranston’s character on “Your Honour” died at the end of season 2, he didn’t see himself playing the part again. Cranston said, “I don’t know about being in it because my guy’s back in prison.” Even though Cranston wasn’t sure if he could play Michael Desiato again, he was still interested in producing Your Honor Season 3 if it ever come together. Still, that day never came, and Cranston seems happier that the show is over for good.
What’s the Likelihood of Your Honor Season 3?
Your Honour was cancelled because its numbers were going down, but the show has since found its fans and is now a huge streaming hit. It was a surprise when Suits became popular on streaming services a long time after it had been cancelled, and this led to more changes in the series. Now that People are also liking Your Honor, there are more questions about whether the show could get a new start.
Fans may be hoping for the impossible because they want to see more of the show now that they have found it, but it is not as impossible as some people think. When asked if there would be Your Honor Season 3, David Stapf, the boss of CBS Studios, gave an answer that was both surprisingly hopeful and careful (via Deadline):
“We really enjoy the show and hope it can go on, but it’s still too early to say for sure.” We’d love for there to be a Season 3, but it’s still a long way off.
Though Stapf’s words don’t say for sure that things will move forward, they are more positive than most people who hear that a show has been cancelled. It looks like someone wants to bring the show back, even if it means we have to wait a long time. It could help get Your Honour season 3 going if the show’s streaming success keeps going strong.
