Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI, is trying an iOS app that can be used by anyone for its chatbot Grok. Until now, only X users could use Grok.
The app is now available in several countries, such as the U.S., Australia, and India. It can receive real-time data from the web and X and has generative AI features that let it rewrite text, summarize long paragraphs, do some Q&A, and even make images from text prompts.
“Grok is an AI-powered assistant that is meant to be as honest, helpful, and interested as possible.” The listing says, “Get answers to any question, make beautiful pictures, and upload pictures to learn more about your world.”
xAI is also working on a website called Grok.com that will let people use the robot on the web. When you log in with an xAI account right now, the page says “coming soon.”
Up until recently, Grok was only open to people who paid for X. In November, the company began trying a free version of the chatbot. Earlier this month, it was brought to all users.
The company says that its chatbot’s image generator model is great at “photorealistic rendering.” It also doesn’t put many limits on its image-making abilities, so users can use pictures of famous people and stolen material to make images.
