A video made by Sara Wollner and Katie Riggins, sisters from Albany, New York, has captured the attention of the internet. The video tells the story of their mom, Karen, who died in July 2022 from pancreatic cancer.

This video, originally shared on TikTok, has gained over 19 million views, with people around the world connecting with the sisters’ infectious laughter and candid storytelling about their unconventional and spirited mother, affectionately nicknamed “Crazy Karen.”

“Let’s keep it moving,” Wollner declares in the video, echoing their mother’s resilience.

A variety of topics were covered during the confessional, from the comical mishap of driving an uninsured car with suspended license plates to overlooked responsibilities like filing taxes.

Due to Wollner’s unexpected stomach virus, Riggins hosted their older sister’s baby shower solo as the sisters dissolved into laughter. In between tears of laughter and genuine reflections on personal struggles and moments of vulnerability, confessions continued.

“‘We are women, hear us roar,’ was our family motto,” Riggins recalled, highlighting the resilience their mother had given them through trying times. For those experiencing grief, the video—which was made in observance of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month—became a solace and a relatable outlet.
