Some fans of The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 have been unable to watch their weekly show because of a sudden. The series is taking a short break. It has a lot of fans because of its smart main character and detailed royal court setting. Episode 19, which was supposed to air on May 16, will now air on May 23. This change took a lot of people by surprise, since the show’s release schedule has been pretty stable up until now.
According to @MangaMonguraRE on X, the delay has nothing to do with the anime and is not caused by any problems with production or staff. The break is because outside shows were more important than the broadcast plan. It’s common for Japanese TV stations to change the order of anime shows for special events, but this one came with little notice. Still, it’s only a one-week break, and the show will return with the same quality and speed of writing.

Delay of The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 Impacts the Storyline:
The break comes at a bad time because the story is picking up speed and there is a lot of tension in the room. Maomao, the smart apothecary in the story, has been kidnapped in the last few shows, and Jinshi is going a little crazy because she is missing. People were glued to their screens for Episode 18, and a week-long break is a pain when things were getting exciting. For anime fans who are really involved in the story, it’s like putting on the brakes in the middle of a sprint.
Still, even a short wait like this can be good in some ways. For people who have been watching every week, this is a chance to watch important scenes again and catch up on any small details they may have missed. Because The Apothecary Diaries season 2 puts so much depth and symbolism into each episode, the short break might actually help fans enjoy the story even more. Since it’s not a long-term break, it shouldn’t have a big effect on the main story or airing schedule.
