Netflix announced Thursday that the second and final of The Sandman Season 2 will end in a “thrilling” way this summer with a two-part drop.
Netflix has chosen to split Sandman Season 2 into volumes. The first volume will have six episodes and come out on July 3, and the second volume will have five episodes and come out on July 24.
Netflix also released the first teaser trailer for the final season of The Sandman. It shows Dream (Tom Sturridge) and his Endless brothers getting back together for a big event. You can see the preview below.
Earlier said that Netflix and Allan Heinberg, who runs The Sandman, had planned for the second season to be the last one since before it was filmed in the summer of 2023. But the streamer didn’t confirm that the show was ending until January of this year, which was also the month that Neil Gaiman, author of The Sandman season 2 and executive producer of the show, was accused of sexual misbehaviour.
According to the summary of the second and final chapter of The Sandman “Dream of the Endless (Tom Sturridge) must make one impossible choice after another as he tries to save himself, his kingdom, and the waking world from the epic fallout of his past wrongdoings…. Dream has to face long-time friends and foes, gods, monsters, and regular people in order to make things right. It’s not easy to be forgiven, though, and Dream may have to give up everything to be truly forgiven. From the famous, award-winning DC comic book series comes the of The Sandman season 2 which will tell Dream’s whole story until it comes to a thrilling end.

As was already said, Heinberg is in charge of running the show and is one of the executive producers along with David S. Goyer and Gaiman. All of Season 2’s shows were directed by Jamie Childs. The TV show The Sandman season 2, which is made by Warner Bros. Television for Netflix, is based on the DC Comics series of the same name by Gaiman, Sam Keith, and Mike Dringenberg.
