Tunnels were found under the headquarters of Chabad Lubavitch, which caused a lot of controversy.
In a shocking turn of events, tunnels were found under the Chabad Lubavitch World Headquarters in Brooklyn. This caused chaos and a tense situation between police and the people who were found in the tunnels.
Bochurim, who is part of the Chabad Lubavitch community, ripped up wooden panels to stop a cement truck from blocking off the newly found tunnels. This is how the find happened. It’s still not clear why these tunnels were built; different stories say they were made for different reasons.
According to the NYPD, there was chaos at the Crown Heights offices of Chabad because the Bochurim would not leave the tunnels and were learning inside them. The NYPD was quickly sent to the spot to take care of things.
“The following event is said to have happened to stop a cement truck from filling the caves. The Crown Heights Info says that the tubes were built in the last six months so that 770 could be made bigger. This makes people wonder what the tunnel was built for and how it relates to the famous 770 address.
Reports disagree on when and why the tubes were built. Some sources say that the tunnels were dug during lockdowns during the time of the Covid, either to make it easier to get in during those times or, more recently, to connect a ritual bath to the main house.
There are other stories that say the Yeshiva men dug the tunnels during Covid lockdowns, when they were supposedly not allowed to go to 770. People say that these tubes go from the Mikvah building to the part of 770 that is for women. People in the area reported hearing strange things happening “in” their homes, which led to a quick reaction and arrests.

Since community leaders had to step in to calm things down, the event brings up questions about whether or not the tunnel building was legal, why it was done, and how the Chabad Lubavitch community and police responded. This shocking news has now put the Chabad Lubavitch World Headquarters in the middle of a dispute that needs to be fully investigated and solved.
