Romance movie fans, rejoice: The story of Joanne and Noah’s love is still going on. There will be a new Nobody Wants This Season 2 soon. When it came out at the end of September 2024, the Netflix show about a rabbi (Adam Brody) and a sex-positive podcaster (Kristen Bell) falling in love in L.A. wowed fans all over the world. The game got more than 10 million views in the first four days after it came out, quickly climbing the streamer’s top 10 chart. One thing is for sure: people who watch Netflix shows want more romance.

We know the following about the upcoming season of Nobody Wants This.

Will return for Nobody Wants This season 2?

Yes. The news was made official by Netflix on Oct. 10, 2024, just a few weeks after the show’s big launch. The news came from Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria, at the Bloomberg Screentime Conference in Los Angeles.

Who’s starring in Nobody Wants This season 2?

Of course, Bell and Brody would have to come back. Other cast members who come back:

    1. Justine Lupe.
    2. Timothy Simons.
    3. Jackie Tohn.
    4. Emily Arlook.
    5. Sherry Cola.
    6. Tovah Feldshuh.
    7. Paul Ben-Victor.
    8. Stephanie Faracy.
    9. Michael Hitchcock.

Leighton Meester, Brody’s real-life husband, will guest star as a character named Abby, who is “Joanne’s (Bell) middle school enemy who is now an Instagram mommy influencer,” according to Variety.

Kristen Bell told ELLE.com what it was like for her when her former co-star from Gossip Girl joined the show. A March 2025 chat with her showed that she was truly thrilled when she said yes. “She’s such a lovely person,” she said. “We just had our table read for the episode she’s in, and she is great.”

As a guest star, Miles Fowler (Bottoms) will also be in season 2 as Lenny, Noah’s (Brody) Matzah Ballers partner who sets up Morgan (Justine Lupe).

Deadline says that Arian Moayed (best known as Stewy from Succession) and Alex Karpovsky (also known as Ray from Girls) will also be back for season 2. The news source says that Moayed will have a “major arc” as Dr. Andy, who is “a charming, highly regarded (especially by himself) psychotherapist who might just be the right match for Joanne’s (Bell) sister Morgan (Lupe); and Karpovsky will play Big Noah, who is a “overly confident rabbi” at Noah’s temple.

What Could Happen in Nobody Wants This Season 2?

An author named Erin Foster wrote the story, which is based on her own experience meeting her real-life partner. Joanne, a podcaster who mostly talks about sex and love, is played by Bell. She meets Noah, a priest played by Brody. Joanne doesn’t identify as Jewish and doesn’t believe in God. This makes her culturally different from Noah’s friends, family, and daily life, especially as Noah tries to move up in the church.

During the season, they have on-and-off relationships, but Joanne breaks up with Noah because she doesn’t want him to have to choose between his job as a church leader and his relationship with her. But he decides to give up his dream job as head priest to be with her. The last episode ends with a kiss. It’s likely that Season 2 will deal with the effects of this big choice and any anger that may arise because of his sacrifice. Because Joanne has also thought about conversion, that could be a talk that goes on for a while.

Is Nobody Wants This Returning for Season 3?

Before it was official that Nobody Wants This season 2 would be back, the show’s creator, Foster, told IndieWire, “The story in season 1 unfolds really slowly.” So, if there is a season 2, I think I would want to pick up right where we left off and keep things slow because I don’t want us to get too far ahead of ourselves. I really want my show to stay on the air for as long as possible!”

Wait, does that mean there might be a third season as well? Please say yes. For his part, Brody says “four or five” sounds good, which is an even bigger “yes please.”
