My thoughts are with the Denver cast of Married at First Sight season 17. It reminds me of the Chicago cast of season 18, but one of them is clearly more unstable. Married at First Sight Season 17 ofran from October 2023 to late April 2024. It was one of the longest seasons in the show’s history. Season 18 of Married at First Sight began in October 2024 and will end in mid-March 2025. Both seasons had the same group of experts whose job it was to match the pairs and help them through the eight weeks.
Since season 15 of Married at First Sight, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Cal Roberson, and Dr. Pia Holec have worked together. The people who match people haven’t been very good at it; just under 19% of the 69 pairs they’ve put together have stayed together. I think that Married at First Sight seasons 17 and 18 of have defined the show because it’s going in a new way with more drama and less matching success. Anyhow, the dysfunction of one of the cast members from that season jumps out to me as a bigger problem.
Married at First Sight Season 17 Battled a Perception Problem:
When it came out that the group of Married at First Sight Season 17had worked together to control their stories and on-camera interactions, it really shocked me. This meant that the actors weren’t being honest with their partners, the fans, or the experts. This caused a lot of anger among the people in each marriage and in the group as a whole. In season 27, the women felt slighted by their husbands, but they didn’t own up to their part in the incident. At the reunion, people made sexual claims against each other, which led to chaos and scream matches.
Even scarier was the fact that the Married at First Sight experts had no idea at all that she was lying. If they had seen that all the pairs were falling apart because they were trying to trick each other, they could have saved the season by ending the doubt. “Optics” was the season’s key word, and I thought the cast ofMarried at First Sight season 17 ruined the show for fans and made it less likely that good things would happen. The group of season 17 couldn’t move because they wanted to look good and get change for the better.
Married at First Sight Season 17 Couples Were Less Successful Than Season 18:
If you compare the success rates of Married at First Sight Season 17and 18, season 17 did the worst. When Orion Martzloff got back from his honeymoon, he asked Lauren Goodger for a divorce because she had made a hurtful racial “joke” about Orion’s Native American background. Cameron Frazer and Clare Kerr broke up on their one-month anniversary, saying they had religious differences. However, it was revealed after the fact that they had actually broken up because Clare had a boyfriend while they were shooting.
Before the big day, Brennan Shoyket and Emily Balch broke up. Brennan finally admitted that Emily’s mean girl behavior made him lose interest in her. Austin Reed lied to Becca about hanging out with a female director the night of decision day, but they broke up the next day after saying yes. Michael Shiakallis was the first runaway bride on Married at First Sight. He was rematched with Chloe Brown, but on the day of the choice, he said no because he wasn’t ready.
Not a single couple from Married at First Sight season 17 stayed together, but one pair from season 18 did. Thomas McDonald and Camille Parsons said they would stay married, and it looks like they will be able to do it.
Explosive Cheating Scandal Rocks Married at First Sight Season 18:
David Trimble, Michelle Tomblin’s husband, and Madison Myers, Allen Slovick’s wife, were having an affair, which they kept lying about. I think this is the most dysfunctional group of Married at First Sight season 18. When David and Madison had to tell the truth, they chose to start dating, which made the Married at First Sight scandal even worse. The cast of Married at First Sight Season 17was shady because they tried to control the story, but I think the cheating and pairs swap in season 18 caused them to completely crash and burn.
