Who is Time’s Person of the Year? Is Benjamin Button, her rag doll-like blue-eyed beauty, Cat of the Year?
People who have pets have been posting their best “blue steel” photos on social media with their pets on their shoulders like the one on the magazine cover.
“My goal is to make pop moments relatable,” said Ryan Sichelstiel, 31, a comedian and content maker. “I get a lot of ideas for posts while I’m in the shower, running, or driving. “My phone has a list of ideas.”
He heard that the Today Show was going to break the 2023 Time Person of the Year record, so he got ready to make a fake cover of the story. He had Photoshop open on his computer and the camera light plugged in while he watched the live news.

“I might or might not have been sick to miss a meeting to post it,” he joked. When he saw Swift’s cover with her cat, he grabbed his 1-year-old dog, Burke, whose middle name is the same as Sichelstiel’s famed crush, John Krasinski.
“He’s such a teddy bear,” he discussed. “OK buddy, bear with me,” I told him, and I picked him up. A pretty good picture was made in all three of them. I thought, “Wow, this is a lot easier than I thought.”
An “In My Dog Era” picture contest is being held by Dogtopia to cash in on the trend.
Neil Gill, CEO of Dogtopia, made fun of Taylor by saying, “She should have a dog around her neck instead of a cat.” “It got the idea going. Let’s turn this into a contest.”
From December 8–21, dog owners can upload a picture to the company’s website. The winner will get free doggie day care at any of its 250 locations.
“There’s a lot of attitude in Taylor’s picture, and she does a great job of showing who she is in the picture,” Gill said. He told everyone who was going to join the contest to be smart and creative.
