For the first time since President Trump took office in January, Elon Musk’s Gulfstream jet has left the Washington, DC area. Musk is currently busy with work at the Department of Government Efficiency.
This is based on information given by Jack Sweeney, who keeps an eye on the private planes of famous people like Musk and Taylor Swift.
According to flight records, one of Musk’s jets took off from Washington-Dulles International Airport in Virginia on Friday and went to Austin.
In the past few years, Texas has become home to the CEOs of Tesla and SpaceX. It’s not clear if Musk was on the plane that took off from the Washington, D.C. area.
Parhlo World talked to Sweeney who said that Musk’s jet shouldn’t be in one place for so long.
“It might be possible that he left DC and flew on someone else’s plane, which I don’t know,” Sweeney added. “But, obviously, he’s been focused on the government.”
Musk has become the face of Trump’s plan to cut back on or get rid of government departments and agencies by looking at how much they spend and how they can be more efficient to save money for taxpayers.
The tech mogul wants to cut spending everywhere, so he is going after the US Agency for International Development, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the Department of Education of all of them.
Some Democratic lawmakers have asked Musk if he has a conflict of interest because his business, SpaceX, has won federal contracts in the past.
Fears have been made about the young DOGE employees who don’t have much experience with the government. There were 19 Democratic state solicitors general who sued Trump last week for letting DOGE see private and secret information at the Treasury Department.
