Apple said on Monday that it will spend and invest more than $500 billion in the US over the next four years. The company plans to hire 20,000 people, build a new factory, and double its fund for advanced manufacturing.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a statement, “We are optimistic about the future of American innovation, and we’re proud to build on our long-standing U.S. investments with this $500 billion commitment to our country’s future.”
“We’re thrilled to show our support for American manufacturing in more ways, like by doubling our Advanced Manufacturing Fund and building cutting-edge technology in Texas.” We will continue to work with people and businesses all over the country to help write an amazing new chapter in the history of American innovation.
The news about Apple comes just a few days after President Trump said that Cook had promised to spend hundreds of millions of dollars in the US and move the company’s factories from Mexico to the US.
“They don’t want to be in the tariffs,” Trump said on Friday.
In Trump’s second term, there is a chance that trade issues between the US and China will get worse, which could hurt Apple. Early this month, the Trump administration put a 10% tariff on all Chinese goods. However, Evercore ISI experts said they didn’t think it would have a big effect on Apple’s finances.
Cook is one of the American tech leaders who have worked to fix or rebuild their relationship with Trump since he was re-elected.
Cook is said to have been to the president’s Florida home at Mar-a-Lago. So have Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta (META), Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL), and Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon (AMZN).
After Trump won the election in November, Cook wrote on X, a social media site owned by Trump friend Elon Musk, that Apple was “looking forward to engaging with you and your administration to help make sure the United States continues to lead with and be fueled by ingenuity, innovation, and creativity.”
Apple and its partners plan to start making servers in Houston later this year, as part of the news released on Monday. A 250,000-square-foot plant in Texas is set to open in 2026 to make servers.
Apple said that these computers will be very important for running its new AI tools, Apple Intelligence.
Apple is also going to double its US Advanced industrial Fund, which was set up in 2017 to help high-skilled industrial jobs. With this new promise, the fund will grow from $5 billion to $10 billion.
The company said on Monday that the fund’s growth includes a promise to make advanced silicon at TSMC’s (TSM) plant in Arizona.

Apple also said it will hire 20,000 people over the next four years. Most of them will work in research and development, silicon engineering, software development, AI and machine learning, and research and development. The company is going to open a new manufacturing academy in Detroit. There, its engineers will help businesses use AI and smart manufacturing methods.
