The US is going to ban TikTok in less than a month, but President-elect Donald Trump told Reuters on Sunday that he’d like to keep the app around.
Trump told supporters at an event in Phoenix, Arizona, “We’re going to have to start thinking because, you know, we did go on TikTok and we had a great response with billions and billions of views.” “A chart was brought to me. It was a record, and it was so beautiful to look at. I thought, ‘Maybe we should keep this sucker around for a while.'”
It is said that Trump met with TikTok’s CEO on Monday and told him that he has a “warm spot” for the app.
The parent company of TikTok, ByteDance, has to sell the short-form video app by January 19, 2020 (one day before Trump takes office), or else it will be banned. President Joe Biden signed the bill into law in April.

ByteDance is going to court to fight the bill, and on January 10 the Supreme Court has decided to hear the case.
