What Amber Heard Thanks To All The Fans Who “Love” And “Support” “Aquaman 2.” Even Though She Said Her Part Was “Parsed Down” And Action Scenes Were “Taken Away,”

With thanks to her fans for supporting her return to the comic book series as Mera, Amber Heard shared some behind-the-scenes pictures from the making of “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” on Instagram. The post is interesting because Heard said in court during her defamation case against Johnny Depp in 2022 that Warner Bros. “didn’t want to include me” in the “Aquaman” sequel because of her split from Depp. She said that her part in the second movie was “cut down” and that fight scenes were “taken away” because of this.

Heard wrote on Instagram, “After all this time, ‘Aquaman 2’ made its splash (sorry, it’s too easy)”. “Thank you so much to all of my fans for all the love and support in Mera’s [Aquaman] return. Thanks a lot.”

Heard and other stars in “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” like Nicole Kidman and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, didn’t do much to promote the movie. Only Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson, who play major roles, did publicity for the movie. It has been a disaster at the box office, earning only $81 million in North America since it opened on December 20. Mera, played by Heard, was one of the main characters in “Aquaman,” which made over $1 billion around the world in 2018, but she has a smaller part in the sequel.

Director James Wan says that Mera and Aquaman were never supposed to be the main characters of the second movie the way they were in the first. Before the movie came out in theatres, he told Entertainment Weekly that “Aquaman 2” always put Aquaman’s friendship with his badass half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson) ahead of his relationship with Mera.

Wan said, “I always pitched this to everyone from the start.” “The first ‘Aquaman’ was the trip that Arthur and Mera took. It was always going to be Arthur and Orm in the second movie. The first one was a love story action-adventure movie, and the second one is a buddy movie action-adventure movie. That’s all there is to it.

A few weeks before the film came out, Variety said that Jason Momoa was said to have dressed up as Johnny Depp on set and tried to get Heard fired from the movie. Heard’s therapist’s notes also showed that she didn’t feel supported by Wan while shooting.

Warner Bros.’s “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” is now showing in theatres across the country.
