With his latest move, King Charles III chose a new doctor to lead the medical branch of the Royal Household. This has made royal fans nervous.
Royal fans are very worried about the 75-year-old King’s health because they want to see the ruler fit and healthy. Some also think the King is getting older, even though he’s in good health.
Dr. Michael Dixon supports the use of homoeopathic medicines. He has worked for the NHS for almost 50 years and is a part-time doctor in Devon.
Dr. Dixon says that traditional medicines can be very helpful in taking care of patients. The doctor used to be a medical advisor to the King when he was Prince of Wales. It is well known that the King supports using homoeopathy along with other methods.
The medical wing of the Royal Medical Household is made up of doctors and surgeons who work with the Sovereign and other members.
A statement from Buckingham Palace to the Telegraph said that Dr. Dixon was a doctor who worked as a GP and was a Fellow of both the Royal College of GPs and the Royal College of Physicians.
“Dr. Dixon doesn’t think homoeopathy can do anything to help cancer.” The statement said, “He believes that complementary therapies can be used along with conventional treatments as long as they are safe, appropriate, and based on evidence.”
Concerns have been made about the appointment by academics and activists, who called it “worrying and inappropriate.”
Professor emeritus at the University of Exeter Edzard Ernst said that support for homoeopathy hurts “evidence-based medicine and rational thinking.”
“It is now generally agreed upon that homoeopathy is not a useful treatment, as we and others have shown.” For me, this means that it should only be in the history books of medicine.
