After long 5 years, Manchester United reached the final stage of the Carabao Cup and is set to face Newcastle United in EFL cup 2023.
Last night, Manchester United faced Nottingham Forrest in the second after the first-leg thrashed defeat and is willing to recover from it.
Old Trafford was filled with Red Devil’s spectators and everyone was chanting slogans. The iconic moment was when Jadon Sancho after months of rehab returned and fans chanted the “SANCHO” slogan in pure rhythm.
Manchester United once again in the second defeated Nottingham with a clear margin to eye the EFL Cup trophy.

In the first half, United was dominating and creating chances. But there was a lack of finish at the end, Weghorst’s header hit the post, and several other chances were saved by the keeper.
The second half was the turning point, when Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Jadon Sancho subbed in to make the difference. They did make a big difference because, within a few minutes, Martial found the net to break the deadlock.
Right after that, the brilliant cross by Bruno Fernandez and Marcus’s assist to Fred doubled the lead to increase the final aggregate.
Now Manchester United will face Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium for the final quest to conquer. United’s performance increase ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left the club after his controversial interview.
Erik Ten Hag, Job Isn’t Done yet
Ten Hag knows it is not a job done, saying: “It’s good to reach the final, but it’s not about reaching the final, it’s about winning it that’s going to be tough, a great opponent.
“Now the focus is on the Premier League, in two days it will continue. It has to give the motivation in the first place, we want to bring that cup to the fans.
“But at this moment I’m not looking ahead, we’re focusing on other things, a big week is coming up, we have Crystal Palace and then two games against Leeds and they are going to be great games, derby games that we are looking forward to.”
