Even though the last episode of Young Sheldon Season 7 aired in May, the show is still getting more and more famous as it joins streaming services like Netflix and Max.
But, as binge-watchers on those services probably already know, not all seasons of the spinoff of The Big Bang Theory were easy to stream… until now. No, only Seasons 1 through 6 could be watched. Fans were eagerly anticipating the seventh and final season. They can now rest easy, though, because Max is now streaming the seventh season.
Now, people who pay for Max can watch the whole season of Young Sheldon for free. But you can watch episodes on Amazon and Vudu for a fee if you missed them when they played on CBS and don’t have a Max subscription.
Before Season 7 ended on CBS, episodes could be streamed on Paramount+, but they were taken down when the shows stopped showing. But don’t worry—patience was key, because Season 7 followed the same pattern as the previous chapters that showed up on Max.
There’s no better time to become interested in Young Sheldon, though, because CBS is about to start airing a spinoff called Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. This show will follow Young Sheldon’s older brother Georgie (Montana Jordan) as he tries to balance his new life as a young husband to Emily Osment’s character Mandy and father to their daughter CeeCee.
This new show in the TV universe that started with The Big Bang Theory in 2007 will continue to build on the Cooper family past. Sheldon Cooper is a genius who was first introduced by Jim Parsons. He was so popular that he got a second life in the form of a spinoff called Young Sheldon Season 7.
The new show Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage uses multiple cameras like Big Bang did, but it continues the story and characters from Young Sheldon. Are you going to watch Young Sheldon Season 7 to get ready for the new show? Leave a comment below to let us know.
Young Sheldon Season 7 Premise:
In the made-up town of Medford, Texas, the show follows Sheldon Cooper’s early years as a child genius. He tries to fit in with a world of people, including his family and friends, who find it hard to deal with how smart he is but how bad he is at making friends. The story starts in the fall of 1989, but scenes that talk about historical or popular culture events from the early 1990s, some of which were only happening in the US, show that time has passed.
Young Sheldon Season 7 Cast and characters:
- Iain Armitage plays Sheldon Lee Cooper, a child genius who is very smart in many areas of science and math. Around the time the show starts, he says that he has chosen to study physics. Sheldon is smart, but he doesn’t fully understand how people act and react in social situations. He often acts like he’s better than everyone else, which makes him blind to how his actions affect other people, even his family. Sheldon has shown that he loves his family, though. He is Georgie’s younger brother and Missy’s bigger twin brother who is not identical. He starts full-time college at age 11 and high school at age 9. In the last episode, he gets his bachelor’s degree and moves to California at age 14 to start graduate school at Caltech, the company that will hire him later. Armitage can be seen in recorded footage playing the part in an episode of the last season of The Big Bang Theory.
- The voice of adult Sheldon Cooper is provided by Jim Parsons. He talks about his youth from the point of view of an adult. Some viewers no longer trust him as a narrator because of the many problems with retroactive continuity that were covered in the series.
- Parsons also plays Sheldon as an adult again in the series end, where it is revealed that he has been writing his autobiography. He now lives in a neighborhood of Los Angeles with his wife, Amy Farrah Fowler, their son Leonard, and their daughter, years after the last episode of The Big Bang Theory.
- Zoe Perry plays George Tucker’s mother, Mary Cooper, who is the mother of Sheldon, Missy, and Georgie. She is strict and overprotective with her kids because she has had a hard past herself and worries about them. She works at her local church and is a dedicated Southern Baptist. Sometimes she doesn’t like that Sheldon is an atheist. She still loves her son very much and wants to keep him safe for as long as she can. Lawrence Metcalf, Perry’s mom, played Mary on The Big Bang Theory.
- Lance Barber plays George Cooper Sr., the head football coach at Medford High School and the father of Sheldon, Missy, and Georgie. Others, especially Meemaw, sometimes wonder if George is related to Sheldon genetically because he is not as smart as Sheldon. Even though he doesn’t always get along with his kids—especially Sheldon—he tries to be a good father by caring for and understanding them. In the episodes before the last one, he is offered a prestigious coaching job at Rice University, but he has a heart attack soon after and dies. Barber played Jimmy Speckerman, one of adult Sheldon’s future roommates Leonard Hofstadter’s high school bullies, in a Season 5 episode of The Big Bang Theory. In a final season episode, he played his Young Sheldon role from a videotape from the 1990s.
- Montana Jordan plays George Marshall “Georgie” Cooper Jr., Sheldon and Missy’s bigger brother. Georgie doesn’t like how much his parents, especially his mom, care about Sheldon. The rest of the family, especially Sheldon and Meemaw, makes fun of him and teases him because he doesn’t do well in school. He doesn’t like Sheldon and is sick of being compared to him. He goes to Medford High with Sheldon and plays football for the school. At age 17, he quits school to work full-time and finds that he is good at sales, which makes him rich and makes him the owner of a chain of tire stores in The Big Bang Theory, where he is played by Jerry O’Connell. He shows up at the end of the second-to-last season for Sheldon’s wedding. In season 5, he falls in love with a weather forecaster who is 12 years older than him. He gets her pregnant by accident, but he starts to be more mature and responsible as he raises their child and marries her.
- Rasegan Revord plays Melissa “Missy” Cooper, Sheldon’s younger twin sister and George’s younger sister. She makes fun of Sheldon like she does Georgie, but not as much. While she is not as smart as Sheldon, she is very perceptive. She sometimes doesn’t get along with Sheldon, but she confides in her twin brother and has said she doesn’t feel as whole without him. She also loves her brother, even though she says she doesn’t all the time. Courtney Henggeler plays adult Missy on The Big Bang Theory. She only shows up twice: once in the first season when she goes to Sheldon’s house and his friends flirt with her for attention, and again in the second-to-last season finale at his wedding, where she meets Amy, who will become his wife.
- Annie Potts plays Constance “Connie” Tucker, known as “Meemaw” by Sheldon, Missy, and Georgie, who call her their maternal grandma. She likes having fun and is sarcastic. She often makes fun of the people around her, especially her son-in-law George. On the other hand, she is patient with Sheldon, whom she calls “Moonpie” and sometimes finds hard to understand. She tells Mary to have faith that Sheldon will find his way. She is said to be 68 years old in the fourth season. The Big Bang Theory has June Squibb play the part of old Connie.
- Matt Hobby plays pastoral leader Jeff Difford (seasons 3–7; regular seasons 1–2), who is happy and leads the Cooper family’s Baptist church. Like Mary, he sometimes disagrees with Sheldon’s lack of faith and often uses logic puzzles to push Sheldon to think about their point of view.
- Wyatt McClure plays William “Billy” Sparks (seasons 5–7; recurring seasons 1–4), the son of Herschel and Brenda Sparks, who live next door to the Cooper family and seem to be very dim. He is Sheldon’s enemy in the pilot episode, but he becomes much nicer early in the show. It’s not mutual, but he has a crush on Missy.
- Emily Osment plays Amanda “Mandy” Elizabeth McAllister (seasons 6–7; occasional season 5) Georgie’s girlfriend and later wife who is 12 years older than him. They have a daughter together and name her after Connie, calling her “CeeCee.”
