Them season 2 is on the way, and here’s what we know so far about the new variety show. Covenant, the first season of Them, came out on Amazon Prime in April 2021. It’s about the Emory family moving from North Carolina to an all-white neighbourhood in Compton, California, in the 1950s. The Emorys have a terrible time for ten days because of their racist white neighbours and the ghosts in their new home.

The Emorys’ house of horrors was based on real events that happened in the United States in the 1950s after World War II and during the Great Migration. People from the Compton neighbourhood come to life in Them thanks to their amazing cast, which includes Deborah Ayorinde, Ashley Thomas, Alison Pill, and Shahadi Wright Joseph. There won’t be any more of the Emory family in Them season 2, but there will be more in season 3. The story will not go in the same direction as season 1. So far, these are the facts.

    Them Season 2 – What’s New?

As more information about the new season comes out, the first video for Them season 2 has been revealed. The almost three-minute peek shows the season’s main conflict: an unknown serial killer is loose in Los Angeles in the 1990s, and he or she is killing people in ways that humans could never do. The trailer also shows Debby Ayorinde as a murder detective who loves her family and needs to find the horrible truth about the killings.

When Will Them Season 2 Be Released?

There were a lot of different dates that Amazon Prime Video said Them season 2 would start in 2024, but they couldn’t be exact. We now know that the much-anticipated Prime Video horror show will be back on April 25, 2024.

The Cast and Characters of Them Season 2:

    Deborah Ayorinde – Dawn

Dawn is a tough LAPD murder detective played by Deborah Ayorinde in Them Season 2. Her father taught her how to be a police officer. Also, she is one of the few black women in a field full of racist guys.

Dawn is a driven and skilled police officer, but she doesn’t have the best track record. In the last few years, she was involved in a major incident on the job.

Dawn has a kid named Kelvin, played by Joshua J. Williams. She recently got split from Iman Shumpert’s Corey, who used to be her husband.

In Season 1 of Them, Ayorinde played a different role as Livia Emory. Apart from that, some fans may know the actor from her work on Luke Cage, True Detective, or Truth Be Told.

    Pam Grier – Athena

Athena is Dawn’s mother, and she is played by Deborah Ayorinde. Dawn works at a toy store.

Athena loves her daughter very much, but she keeps lies from her that keep coming back to haunt her every day.

She has been in a lot of films and TV shows, like Jackie Brown, The L Word, Bless This Mess, and more.

    Luke James – Edmund Gaines

Edmund Gaines is played by Luke James. He is a hopeful actor who works as a mascot for kids at a nearby playground (think Chuck E. Cheese or Five Nights at Freddy’s). Edmund is a truly troubled soul who is trying to fill a hole in himself that can never be filled. He may seem shy and sensitive.

People quickly learn that this character’s path is not a good one.

James has been in a number of TV shows in the past, such as Star, Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G., and The Chi.

Joshua J. Williams – Kelvin ‘Kel’ Reeves

Kelvin “Kel” Reeves, Dawn’s son, is played by Joshua J. Williams. A shy and smart kid, he spends a lot of time and energy getting better at playing the drums.

He gets along well with his mother, but he is angry at her because his parents are no longer together.

Williams played Solomon in Cloak & Dagger before he worked on Them: The Scare. He also had important parts in Mudbound, Quarry, and Flatbush Misdemeanours.

Jeremy Bobb – Detective Ronald McKinney

Officer Ronald McKinney, played by Jeremy Bobb, is a quick closer at the LAPD who is known for using questionable methods.

He is racist and Dawn’s main partner in the murder case that starts the series. Very quickly, McKinney turns into a bad guy in the series.

Bobb has had a number of well-known roles in films like “The Outsider,” “Russian Doll,” “The Continental,” and others.

    Wayne Knight – Lt. Schiff

Dawn’s boss at the LAPD is Wayne Knight’s Lt. Schiff. He’s usually on her side, even if that means always being mean to her.

Knight’s most well-known roles are as Nedry in Jurassic Park and as Newman in Seinfeld. He has also been in Bookie, Harley Quinn, The Bystanders, and more.

    Carlito Olivero – Joaquin Diaz

Carlito Olivero plays Joaquin Diaz, a new police officer who wants to impress Dawn with his work. Even though they don’t work together at first on the murder case, Dawn does hire him as a partner in the end.

Some people may remember Olivero from his work on Step Up: High Water, while others may remember him from the scary movie Escape Room: Tournament of Champions.

    Charles Brice – Reggie Marks

Reggie Marks is played by Charles Brice. Dawn is currently in love with Reggie, but she keeps this a secret from everyone, not even her family.

Even though they seem to be very close, Reggie starts to want more, and it’s not clear if Dawn can give it to him.

People who like Brice’s work can also see him in Homeland, In from the Cold, and City on a Hill.

    Iman Shumpert – Corey

Corey is Dawn’s ex-husband, and Iman Shumpert plays him. Even though he and his ex-wife are no longer together, he is still close to his son. Kel’s music is a big part of their bond.

Shumpert played Rob in “The Chi” and Quintrell in “Twenties.” He also played basketball professionally for the Brooklyn Nets.

    Brey Howard – Donovan

One of the people that Edmund Gaines meets is Donovan, played by Brey Howard.

Gaines starts to hate Donovan very much after he laughs behind the camera during one of Edmund’s interviews.

Smith has also been in films like Kevin Can F**k Himself, FBI, and I’m a Virgo.

    Brandon O’Dell – Rio

Rio is played by Brandon O’Dell. He is Edmund Gaines’ boss at the game where they work.

O’Dell has had small roles in a lot of other TV shows, like Stranger Things, Vice Principal, The Resident, The Walking Dead, and more.

    Tamika Shannon – Rhonda

Rhona, played by Tamika Shannon, is someone Edmund Gaines dated early on. She offers to help him find a good part because she gets so many stories every day.

She can also be seen in Will Trent, Hightown, and Wolf Pack.

    Shane Johnson – Investigator Phillips

Shane Johnson is Investigator Phillips, a job in Internal Affairs that involves looking into possible wrongdoing.

People know Johnson from his roles as Cooper Saxe in Power and Power Book II: Ghost.

Storyline Insights for Them Season 2:

Season one of Them finished the story of the Emory family. Them Season 2 will start a new story with new people. Them season 2 will take place in the 1990s, jumping ahead a few decades. It will follow LAPD Homicide Detective Dawn Reeve (Ayorinde) as she looks into the horrible murder of a foster parent. Not much is known about it yet, which will probably keep people guessing for the new season. It’s not clear how the scary parts of season 1 will fit in with season 2’s more realistic plot.

The Trailer for Them Season 2:

Prime Video has shared a full-length trailer for the show before its April launch, which is sure to get people excited about its return. Debby Ayorinde’s new character is shown in the three-minute trailer. She is a murder detective in Los Angeles in the 1990s who is looking for a mystery serial killer. There may be supernatural forces at work, and the bodies that have been twisted are not just the result of a murder spree. Like the first trailer, this one makes it very clear that Them season 2 will deal with race problems. The fact that it takes place in Los Angeles in the early 1990s was not a coincidence.
