On Tuesday, President Trump talked about bullies, but some of his critics said he might as well have been talking about himself.
At the time, Trump was talking to reporters at the White House about his plans to rebuild Gaza and give Hamas until Saturday to free the last of its Israeli hostages.
Trump said, “I don’t think they’ll meet the deadline; I think they want to play tough guy.” “But let’s see how tough they are.”
Someone from the news media asked if that date would hurt the peace talks.
Trump said he didn’t believe it and added:
“You know mean kids? You know what a mean person is, right? As for the bully, I’ve always thought that they were the weaker person in the group. Plus they’re mean. Haters are Hamas. Being a bully makes you weak. “You do know that, right?”
A lot of people have said that Trump is a bully, and his critics were quick to point that out. They also said that his words about them being “the weakest people” were like a confession:
Trump says: “A bully is the weakest person…the weakest people are bullies.”
