This is Taylor Swift’s way of getting in touch with a fan who wrote an emotional TikTok about her.
The 34-year-old pop star shared a sweet comment on the video from a Swiftie mom on Thursday. Swift said that the woman’s words had “so moved” her.
The TikTok video from Wednesday showed a woman with the name @saywhaaat crying as she talked about how the “Cruel Summer” singer has affected her and her young daughter.
“Hi Taylor, My name is Jenny. I’ve always liked them. I grew up with you because we are the same age. “You kind of saved my life when I was a kid,” the woman said after telling Swift’s fans that the video was for her.
“Now I have a 9-year-old daughter who is… everything,” she said. She looks up to you in every way, and your song “Mean” helps her deal with school haters. There was a time earlier this year when we talked about how great this year has been. Now she is No. 1. “Mom, I’ve had more fun with you this year than ever before,” she said.
The mom tagged Swift in the video and in her caption, and she went on to say that the Grammy winner was the reason she and her daughter had such a great year. She said that they had been able to see the singer’s Eras Tour and had seen the concert film five times in theatres and rented it after Swift released it to streaming services on her birthday, December 13.
“For my daughter to say, ‘I’ve had the best year with you,'” I work every day and am a single mum. “That means so much to me,” the mom said, adding that it made her love Swift even more and joked that she’d “take a bullet” for the singer. She then talked about how important the star is “behind the scenes.”
She told Swift, “I just wanted you to know that you have changed my mum heart and brought my daughter and I closer together.” She then cried and wished Swift a happy Christmas.
It has been seen more than 760,000 times on TikTok, and many users commented on the post that they hoped Swift saw it. On Thursday, the singer did reply with a sweet note in the video’s comments section.
“You just reminded me of why this year has been so special,” Swift wrote, adding, “I’m so moved by what you said.” It makes me think of the times I spent with my mum when we were that age.
Swift has talked about her close relationship with her mom, Andrea, in the past. For example, in her song “The Best Day,” which is about their relationship, and in an interview with Variety in 2020, she talked about it.

The news outlet asked her about Andrea, who was getting treatment for cancer and had just been told she had a brain tumour. “Everyone loves their mum; everyone’s got an important mum,” she said.
“But she’s really the one who guides me.” I talk to her about almost every choice I make first. “Clearly, talking about her illness was a very big deal,” Swift said.
The singer’s 34th birthday was recently celebrated in New York City with friends such as Gigi Hadid, Blake Lively, Jack Antonoff, and Zoë Kravitz. This came after finishing the latest leg of her Eras Tour in Brazil in November, releasing her concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, and starting a relationship with NFL tight end Travis Kelce.
Recently, Swift showed her support for Kelce, 34, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Sunday, when her boyfriend’s Kansas City Chiefs played the New England Patriots. She wore a knit beanie with her boyfriend’s shirt number, 87, stitched on it.
