Amir Talai, who plays the always-happy Alastor in Hazbin Hotel season 2, has an idea about when will come out. The viral YouTube hit was first created by Vivienne Medrano as a 2019 animated pilot with the same name. It was picked up by A24 before it found a home. Prime Video from outside of the US bought two seasons of the adult cartoon show. After the first season of Hazbin Hotel came out in January 2024, the show was picked up for seasons 3 and 4.
With the help of the strong demon Alastor, the show is about Charlie Morningstar, Lucifer’s daughter, who is played by Erika Henningsen. She opens a hotel in Hell to help sinners change and get to Heaven. Adam (Alex Brightman), the head of a group that kills people, is against her. Once a year, he flies down to Hell to get rid of all the souls that live there so it doesn’t get too crowded. The cartoon musical comedy and Helluva Boss, a show made by Medrano’s Spindle horse Toons that also has plans for a fourth season, share the same world.
What to Expect for Hazbin Hotel Season 2 Release Timeline:
The first season started filming in August 2020, and was supposed to come out in the summer of 2023. However, the writers’ and actors’ strikes pushed the release date even further, to 2024. If you don’t count the strikes, this means that the highly rated Hazbin Hotel season 1 took two years and eight months to make. In February 2024, Medrano said that making season 1 took “about one-and-a-half [or] two years,” and she thought that making season 2 would take about the same amount of time.
In January 2024, work on Season 2 began. Talai’s comment fits with the past updates on production. According to Henningsen, filming was “pretty far” along when she said in June that she would be returning as Charlie and other fan-favorite Hazbin Hotel characters. Even though there isn’t a date for season 2, it sounds like everything is going as planned. In the next couple of months, we might hear more.
Hazbin Hotel Season 2 Might Return in 2025, According to Alastor’s Actor:
Now, Talai has shared his guess about when Hazbin Hotel Season 2 will return. He thinks the show will return sometime in 2025. Even though Medrano hasn’t said for sure when the show will return, it was announced in August 2024 that the Italian company Dog Head Animation would be working on season 2. Since then, Hazbin Hotel’s cast hasn’t said how quickly the new season is being made, so it’s not clear when the show will actually return with more episodes.
Alastor, who plays Hazbin Hotel, told The Direct what he thinks about when season 2 will come out. The star talks about Medrano’s update from last year, when he said that the new season would take at least a year. He says that May 2025 is “the absolute earliest” that he thinks it will come out, and he thinks it will come out between May and October. Here’s what he said:

It might not be a bad thing that there isn’t a set date yet. At the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con, seasons 3 and 4 were renewed before season 2 even came out. This shows that Prime Video is confident in how well the new season will do. The lack of a release date could just mean that the people working on the show are prioritizing quality until they are sure of the date. They are not using it as a deadline, and since Hazbin Hotel Season 2has bigger plots and more action, it makes sense that production could take a little longer.
Also, keep in mind that Hazbin Hotel season 2 is still being made. Fans will have to wait and see how long production and post-production take before they can watch the new shows. It doesn’t look like the cartoon show will be back in May 2025, but it could happen before the end of the year. It would also make sense for it to come back in October, since most of the story takes place in Hell. It would also make sense for it to come out in the same month as Halloween. There is a chance that nothing solid will happen for a while, though.
What’s Coming Next in Hazbin Hotel?
The expanded world is still going strong even though season 2 is still being made. New episodes of Helluva Boss are being made right now, and season 3 should have 15 episodes. The spinoff, on the other hand, has a more flexible release plan as a YouTube series. This means that episodes won’t be dropping every week like they will when Hazbin Hotel is ready to air. Also, there’s no word on whether there will be greater crossovers between the two shows, even though Medrano said he liked the idea.
The future of Hell looks good. Based on the schedule Medrano gave when season 1 first came out, Talai’s prediction could come true. But since there isn’t a trailer for Hazbin Hotel season 2 yet, it looks like new shows won’t come out until late 2025, if it is really supposed to come out this year. As long as the Prime Video show and Helluva Boss are still being made, there will be lots of new stories set in Pentagram City and the Rings of Hell.
