Program ranker Podscribe says that over the past month, an anti-Trump program got a lot more downloads and views than The Joe Rogan Experience.
The MeidasTouch Podcast got 56 million downloads and views across audio platforms and YouTube as of February 18. This is a 101 percent increase in its spread in the last month.
Joe Rogan’s show came in second with 48.6 million downloads and views, which is 32% less than it was a month ago.
The expected number of downloads and views that a show gets each month across all episodes on both its podcast and YouTube channel is used by Podscribe to rank shows.
The MeidasTouch Podcast is run by brothers Ben, Brett, and Jordan Meiselas. In episodes that are a mix of news and chitchat, they often criticize President Trump.
Before they joined forces, Ben was Colin Kaepernick’s main lawyer in the NFL. He also owns the Los Angeles Magazine with famous lawyer Mark Geragos. Brett got two Emmys for adding music to videos for The Ellen DeGeneres Show. In the meantime, Jordan was a successful advertising executive in New York who had won many awards.
In the past month, the show has talked about Trump’s fancy appearance at NASCAR’s Daytona 500 race, the string of plane crashes that have happened since Trump took office, and the controversial tariffs that were put on imported goods.
It says on Spotify that the brothers’ unique way of covering news—combining funny brother banter with unapologetic support for democracy—has won them millions of fans in the US and around the world and made them social media stars.
Even though the anti-Trump podcast made it to the top, most of the shows on the Podscribe chart were still on the right. Rogan’s show came in second, followed by Candace Owens’s own show, which was third. The Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett, This Past Weekend with Theo Von, the Shawn Ryan Show, and the Dan Bongino Show came in next.
The Ben Shapiro Show came in ninth, just behind two NPR shows that came in eighth and tenth.
People say that podcast guys like Rogan and Von helped Trump get more support from younger men during the campaign.
The White House got a lot of calls for press passes last month after telling podcasters and influencers that they could come in.
