I’ll be watching Phineas and Ferb shows over and over again during my (another) 104 days of summer break. After a school year, Phineas and Ferb season 5 starts the revival, and things mostly go on as normal, with a few new twists. Everyone’s favourite brothers who make impossible machines are back. Their sister is still trying in vain to tell their mom the truth, and their pet platypus keeps fighting (and basically being best friends with) bad guys who aren’t very good at what they do.

Phineas and Ferb is almost perfect and surprisingly smart. The show did have a good ending when it was meant to end with season 4 10 years ago. Once the showrunners were asked to come back, Phineas and Ferb season 5 had to be more of the show we love and also show why they should come back. They make a shift that mostly works and maybe leads to more simple linear stories in the future. For now, we can enjoy everything that’s to come.

Phineas and Ferb Season 5 Premiere Refreshes the Show’s Signature:

If you saw the sneak peek, you already know about the crazy dark twist in the first episode. The show teases us with what we think will happen, even though we’ve seen it happen 104 times already. Not now. As a “special event,” the first show of the season is a high-stakes adventure, but it’s not as big as some of the other specials. It’s just the right size to be the car that brings the show back. After they do that, they can keep doing what they’re doing.

The worst character regression is Doofenshmirtz, played by co-creator of the show Dan Povenmire, who goes back to being bad without any fanfare. I’m just going to have to accept it. Since Phineas and Ferb has a timeline that changes, it’s not clear if the characters actually grow. Still, I can see little signs of growth in the first season, and I can see how the new season could do the same thing while keeping the popular format of cartoon humour.

The first episode and the ones that came after it have some interesting plot points that remind us that Phineas (Vincent Martella), Ferb (David Errigo Jr.), and Candace (Ashley Tisdale) are growing up. This new season jumps ahead a year in time, which changes the main plot and lets the writers explore new themes. You can always have a good time with Phineas and Ferb, but you can also learn important things about family, friendship, and imagination. The new episodes are a great way to carry these ideas forward.

Not the Best Phineas and Ferb Season, But Season 5 Comes Close:

When I thought about Phineas and Ferb again, I wanted it to live up to the high level of nostalgia I felt and the pure joy I got from watching old shows during lockdown. This meant that the new season had to deliver on things like the meta-humor, the music, and making a formula that was obviously overused interesting to people who were not in the show’s target audience. The first episode is a bigger journey that throws a lot of curveballs at you. The later episodes still make small changes to the formula, which is similar to what season 4 had to do.

Still a lot of fun, and each idea story is surprisingly new. Supporting characters Isbella (Alyson Stoner), Buford (Bobby Gaylor), and Baljeet (Maulik Pancholy) all have good, if not great, jokes. There’s also a scene where the boys and their friends come up with invention ideas together, which makes us wonder how much energy these kids have all school year. The show’s most famous songs are from the earlier seasons, but the songs from season 5 so far are catchy and have some lively parts, which makes me think Phineas and Ferb could still come up with some real showstoppers.

Everything New in Phineas and Ferb Season 5:

Five Emmy Awards and a BAFTA nomination later, Phineas and Ferb is a cartoon comedy for kids that knows what kids like: humour, fun, adventure, quirky characters, and learning life lessons. And that won’t change. Why mess up something good, after all?

Some new people have joined the group, and all of the fan-favorite characters are coming back: There are several actors who play important roles in the show. Vincent Martella and David Errigo Jr. play stepbrothers Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher, respectively. Ashley Tisdale plays Candace Flynn, Dan Povenmire as “Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz,” Alyson Stoner as Isabella Garcia-Shapiro, Dee Bradley Baker as Perry the Platypus, Caroline Rhea as Linda Flynn-Fletcher, and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh as Major Francis Monogram.

A lot of big names are coming as guests this season, like Michael Bublé, Alan Cumming, John Stamos, Leslie Jones, Anna Faris, Megan Rapinoe, Meghan Trainor, and more.

Phineas and Ferb Season 5 Inspires Imagination and Fun:

The friends of Phineas and Ferb season 5, like Candace, Isabella, and the rest, are always making something new. In the new season episode “Summer Block Buster,” for example, Phineas and Ferb are busy making amazing machines to make the block party in the neighbourhood bigger than life.

The show also shows that kids often feel like they are being their true selves when they are not around adults. Things get really interesting for the kids while mum, Linda Flynn-Fletcher, is away on work.

Phineas and Ferb Season 5: Release Date and Streaming Info:

Phineas and Ferb season 5 starts on June 5 on Disney Channel and DisneyXD, and on June 6, the first 10 shows will air on Disney+.

Kids heard the show’s new theme song, “Summer Is Starting Right Now,” in a sneak peek of “Summer Block Buster,” which has loyal fans who can’t wait for the season to start.

For real kids, summer is coming up soon, and what better way to pass the time than to watch Phineas and Ferb make their families crazy with their silly plans? Of course, they can also go on their own adventures and let their minds run wild.
