The second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has been announced, and we now have a tight window for when it will come out. This is the fantasy anime that stole everyone’s hearts last year.
The first look at Frieren season 2, a deep dive into which comics chapters are next, a short summary of the story so far, and more guesses about when the new episodes of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will come out next year are all here to help you get there.
Let’s look ahead to the second season and Frieren’s next trip to “heaven.” We’ll also talk about the friends the mage might meet along the way.
Which Manga Chapters Will Frieren Season 2 Cover?
The first season of Frieren was about the main character, a witch named Frieren, who had to deal with the fact that her fellow heroes were dying quickly and think about what that meant for her own place in the world as an elf who can live a very long time. After defeating the Demon King, she comes back many years later to find her friends old or about to die.
But to do that, she set out on an epic trip to Aureole to say goodbye to Himmel, one of the heroes she fought with to defeat the Demon King.
Along the way, she meets a number of people whose lives have been changed by the bravery of her friends. She also defeats the last of the Demon King’s forces. It’s one of the best anime shows of the last ten years because it makes you think about memory, life, and how to deal with a world and people that will leave you behind.
But that was the first season. What will happen next? At the end of the first season of Frieren, Frieren and Fern were planning to finish their mage tests. When Fern raises her level to First Class, Frieren and her group will be able to go further into the northern lands. But Frieren finds out that she can’t go anywhere for the next 1000 years.
Frieren is now going to keep going to Aureole so she can say goodbye to Himmel. The second season of Frieren will likely start with chapter 61 of the manga by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe. This will cover the Continued Northern Travels arc, which sends Frieren, Fern, and Stark into unknown territory.
We don’t think it will go too far past the Goddess’ Monument arc, especially since it’s quickly catching up to the original story. That means Frieren season 2 could cover chapters 61–119, which is very close to the first season’s 60-chapter run.
Speculated Release Timeline for Frieren Season 2:
The second season of Frieren will come out in January 2026. Along with the last episode of Fire Force season 3, it is one of the first big new anime releases that have been announced for the winter of 2026.
Because new episodes of Frieren usually come out on Fridays and winter anime releases usually start in the first week of January, we’d be pretty sure that it would come out on January 2 or January 9.
