Screenshots shared by users suggest that the name of TikTok’s upcoming app for sharing photos that will compete with Instagram could be TikTok Notes. TikTok also stated that the app was being made.
TikTok users have been getting pop-up messages about a new app called TikTok Notes that lets them share pictures for the past few days.
The alert says that TikTok will soon be releasing “a new app for photo posts” called TikTok Notes. Users’ old photo posts will be able to be shared on this app. People can also choose not to share their photo posts on the new app.
TikTok confirmed that the app is being worked on but said it is not yet ready.
A TikTok spokesperson told TechCrunch, “As part of our ongoing commitment to improving the TikTok experience, we’re looking into ways to give our community more freedom to create and share their creativity with photos and text in a space that’s just for those formats.”
Also, photo.tiktok.com, which is owned by TikTok and is an internet storage link, displays a placeholder advertisement with the words “Opening in TikTok Notes.”
APK files can be installed on Android devices. Last month, code and text found in the TikTok APK file suggested that the company has been working on a photo-sharing app called TikTok Photos.
But the new pop-ups in TikTok make it look like the company might be thinking of a different name for the app.
Both TikTok and Meta are vying for users on social media sites. The app run by ByteDance is getting ready to release a photo-sharing app. At the same time, Meta released a video player for Facebook that is vertically-first.

They are also trying out new forms, such as 30-minute videos and text posts like X and Threads.
