Someone who used to work for “Fast & Furious” star Vin Diesel is accusing him of sexual battery.
USA TODAY got a copy of Asta Jonasson’s lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles on Thursday and says that the actor sexually assaulted her in Atlanta in the fall of 2010 while they were shooting “Fast Five.”
The lawsuit says that Jonasson was hired by the actor’s production business, One Race, to do different jobs for him, such as planning and going to parties with Diesel and making sure she was close by for pictures when the actor went to events without his longtime girlfriend.
In a statement, Jonasson’s lawyer from Greenberg Gross said, “We are proud to represent Ms. Jonasson and hold Vin Diesel and those who allowed and covered up his sexual assault accountable.” No matter how powerful or well-known the offender is, the law is there to protect people who have been harmed. Sexual harassment at work will never end as long as strong men are not held responsible.
Bryan Freedman, a lawyer for Vin Diesel who is based in Los Angeles, said in a statement that Diesel “categorically denies this claim in its entirety.”
That was the first time Freedman had heard of this claim, which was made more than 13 years ago by someone who was only supposed to work 9 days a week. “There is strong evidence that these ridiculous claims are not true.”

According to the accusations, Diesel, 56, asked Jonasson to wait for him in his room at the St. Regis hotel after a late night in September 2010 while he entertained club hostesses. The claim says that Diesel grabbed Jonasson by the wrists and pulled her onto the bed after the women left.
Diesel is said to have started to grope her breasts, kiss her chest, and run his hands along her waist and upper legs, including the inside of her thighs, after she got away.
For her own safety and work security, Jonasson was afraid to “forcibly refuse her superior.” But when Diesel moved to pull down her underwear, Jonasson screamed and ran down a hallway.
The suit says Diesel held her against the wall and let her touch his private parts. The suit says that while she was masturbating, “terrified Ms. Jonasson closed her eyes, trying to distance herself from the sexual assault and avoid making him angry.”
After a few hours, Samantha Vincent, Diesel’s sister and head of One Race, called Jonasson to fire her after less than two weeks on the job, the suit says.
Jonasson signed a nondisclosure agreement when she accepted the job, but she was still able to file the claims because of the Speak Out Act and California’s AB2777. The Speak Out Act stops nondisclosure agreements from being enforced in cases of sexual assault and assault and harassment, and AB2777 temporarily waives statutes of limitations for sexual abuse claims occurring in 2009 or later.
In the lawsuit, Jonasson also says that the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements gave her the power to “reclaim her agency and justice for the suffering she endured at the hands of Vin Diesel and One Race.”
Diesel is famous for playing the lead in the “Fast & Furious” movies, as well as roles in “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Riddick.”
