- Joe Biden says he will run again.
- He stressed that he could not let Trump win.
- It looks like Trump won’t be at the presidential discussion.
As the race for president in 2024 heats up, US Vice President Joe Biden and a possible foe, Donald Trump, have been insulting each other.
“We cannot let him win,” Mr. Biden said, adding that stopping the Republican is one reason he is running for a second term in 2020.
At an event for a foreign news agency, Mr. Trump said that he thought Mr. Biden was too old for this kind of political fight.
At this point, neither candidate is the official choice of their party.
Even though Mr. Trump is the Republican front-runner, he is still being charged with four felonies. Since Mr. Biden is already president, he is likely to be the Democratic choice.
Recent polls show that the race between the two seems to be very close.
At a campaign event outside of Boston, Mr. Biden told reporters off-camera, “I’m not sure I’d be running if Trump wasn’t running.” We can’t let him win, though. However, we can’t let him win.
People thought that the president’s words were the first time he had directly linked his desire for a second term to his resistance to Mr. Trump’s bid for a comeback.
Later on Tuesday, Mr. Trump went to a town hall meeting in Davenport, Iowa, for a foreign news agency.
“You’re telling America tonight that you will never use your power to get back at someone?” asked Sean Hannity, the show.
Along with a “except for day one,” Mr. Trump replied. “I want to drill, drill, drill and close the border.”
He also said he didn’t think Mr. Biden would “make it physically” through the tough race that was coming up.
It was said that his opponent’s mental health is “possibly equally bad or even worse” than his physical health.
The fourth Republican presidential debate will be held in Alabama on Wednesday, but Mr. Trump will not be there.
