There has been talk since the end of the first season of Moon Knight about whether or not there would be a Moon Knight season 2. Now it looks like Marvel might be thinking about it. There has been no official confirmation that Moon Knight will be back, but new details about the re-release of the first season makes it seem more possible that there will be a second season. This may have something to do with what Disney CEO Bob Iger said about slowing down the rate of new MCU releases.
Disney recently sent out a news statement about the physical release of some Disney+ shows. In it, Moon Knight is called “Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight: The Complete First Season.” If Disney didn’t plan to make more Moon Knight Movies, they would have probably called this one “the complete series.” This doesn’t mean there will be a Moon Knight Season 2, but it makes it look like one could happen. It looks like this is even more likely since Obi-Wan Kenobi, a limited series that is also being released on DVD, doesn’t have a season 1 label.
Are We Getting a Moon Knight Season 2?
There isn’t any official word on Moon Knight Season 2 yet, and the information that is out there makes it sound like it could go either way. Mohamed Diab, who is in charge of the Moon Knight series, said that Marvel doesn’t always give a show a second season, even if it does well. The full words from Diab can be read below:
Kevin Feige has given fans hope that Moon Knight will come back, even though Diab made it clear that Marvel had not promised a second season.
Feige has said in the past that he plans to bring Moon Knight back, but he didn’t say if it would be in his own show or in other MCU projects. Blade and Black Knight have been teased by the MCU, so Moon Knight could show up in a Midnight Sons crossover based on Marvel’s magical superhero team. It’s good to know that Oscar Isaac will be back in the MCU at some point, even if Moon Knight doesn’t get a second season.
When is Moon Knight Season 2 Expected to Premiere on Disney+?
For sure, if Moon Knight isn’t just a phase, it will be at least two years before the second season comes out. Marvel has more projects going on than Marc has personalities. As a result, Moon Knight Season 2 will have to wait in line behind all the other new and returning shows that are set to come to Disney+.
Who Will Join the Cast of Moon Knight Season 2?
Isaac told Variety that he was “reticent” about joining the MCU before he played Moon Knight for the first time. “I had heard of the golden handcuffs,” he said. “Thank goodness we all agreed that we should focus on this show.” This is the tale. Any plans for the future? I believe it depends on how much people enjoy it, if they want to see more, and if we discover an interesting story to tell.
“I was in a position – because I wasn’t actively looking to get back into something this big – to say, ‘This is how I see it, and if you guys don’t see it that way, that’s totally okay, but then maybe it’s not the right fit,'” he added. That’s why I wasn’t scared of doing the wrong thing. “I thought there was a chance to do something really strange on a huge stage with these amazing tools,” Isaac told Deadline. “It seemed like too good of a chance to miss to figure out a way to do this weird character study and have this weird, psychedelic journey that’s all about trauma within this genre and this structure.”
“You put your whole heart into the things you do, not even because you want to get something out of them.” “You put that stuff in there for fun and because it means something to you; whether it actually shows up on camera isn’t really important,” Isaac said.
“I believe the point is to add depth. You can feel how deep it is. All the little details, the different textures, and all that other stuff could be ignored by someone who is in a hurry, which you were always. This is especially true when you have six hours of show to make, which is always so crazy. Plus, you still found time and energy to give everything you did some kind of meaning. That’s just so great.”
Since then, Isaac has talked about the chance of a Moon Knight season 2 in an interview with The Radio Times. He said, “I think we approached it as ‘this is the story,’ and let’s just lay everything on the table for this story.” There are no formal plans to keep going with it. It might depend on the story.
Isaac then said, “That being said, I love being Steven. Thus, all hope is not lost.” I love it so much. Kind of like, being him is so much fun for the body. I’d be happy to be a part of a story that made sense, though.
Maybe Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow, but May Calamawy as Layla El-Faouly, F Murray Abraham as Khonshu, and Oscar himself will be back if the show does come back. But that’s not likely after how the last episode ended.
Gaspard Ulliel, a cast member, will not be back because he was in a terrible skiing accident before the show’s start in 2022. At this point, it’s still not clear if Marvel had planned to bring Anton Mogart back for more shows.

What’s the Story for Moon Knight Season 2?
At least for Marvel, Moon Knight is meant to be weird and experimental, which makes it harder to guess what will happen next.
But since Jake Lockley, the third big Moon Knight character, finally shows up in the scene after the credits, we expect him to continue to be very important going forward. But does he like or dislike the other alters? That last “shot” in season one makes it clear that Jake is not someone you want to mess with.
Short references to well-known comic book bad guys like Bushman could also pay off in the future, but that’s only if Moon Knight comes back for a second season.
Since the show hasn’t gotten great reviews and is only a limited series right now, it wouldn’t surprise us if Moon Knight and Layla as Taweret’s new superhero character only showed up in other MCU stories from now on.
That could be very interesting. For the same reason that Batman, Moon Knight can be written in a lot of different ways, based on the writer. We can easily picture the Fist of Khonshu fighting with street-level heroes like Daredevil. But, based on his mood that day, we can also see him fighting with or against the Avengers.
Director of Moon Knight Mohamed Diab said after the end that he still doesn’t know what the show will do next (via Comicbook.com). “I have no idea what will happen…” I’m sure Moon Knight will be here for a while. Will it be a movie? Is there going to be a TV show? Will you just be going on the next trip with another character? I’m not sure. I wish I was in that story. One day, making that world bigger.”
If Diab stays on with this project, he would like to start season two by going into Jake Lockley’s life in great detail. “I want to see his world.” “Everyone is so interested in him, and I want to know what he does in between blinks, who he is, and what and who he loves,” Diamond said.
“I find it very interesting.” But I love that the little things we did throughout the show kept people waiting for Jake every time. But I think it worked out because he came in at the right time, near the end, when they were still stuck on con.
Still not sure about Layla? How will things go from here for the new Scarlet Scarab?
Diab gave a hint about what might happen next for May Calamawy’s character in a different interview with Deadline. He said, “We kept it open because this could be Layla’s beginning.” It should only be a brief character. She would be very interesting to date someone who is very different from her, like Tawaret. They could drive each other crazy. She is learning whether she needs to be a superhero right now or not, since she doesn’t like the idea. She may also be learning whether it’s important. I don’t know what will happen because there’s so much space there.
Moon Knight could always show up in a Scarlet Scarab spin-off, though. That is, if there is one.
“In the end, all of those things are up to Kevin [Feige], who is president of Marvel Studios,” Slater told Inverse. He also says, “Because she’s awesome,” he hopes it happens soon.
“She always started as a sort of Marion Ravenwood counterpoint to our Indiana Jones lead,” Slater says, referring to the famous Indiana Jones movies and Karen Allen’s role as Harrison Ford’s love interest.
“But when we thought of giving her powers and making her the first Egyptian superhero in the MCU, our creative director Nick Pepin suggested that we connect it to the Scarlet Scarab.” It was really fun how the pieces lined up. Calamawy was a great actor when I met her, and she brought her to life. “I’m excited to see more,” Slater said.
When Will We See the Moon Knight Season 2 Trailer?
We keep telling Khonshu to skip over the nights to make things go faster, but we still don’t think we’ll see any new Moon Knight Season 2 footage for a while. And that’s if the show gets picked up again.
Will Moon Knight Be a Part of the MCU’s Supposed Midnight Sons Lineup?
In February 2023, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige hinted at Moon Knight’s future in the MCU. However, the Fist of Khonshu has not yet returned to the series. But since a Midnight Sons project is said to be being worked on at Marvel, Moon Knight could be one of the first characters to join the team, along with Blade, Werewolf by Night, and Agatha Harkness. Isaac already said earlier this year that he would love for Moon Knight to be in a Midnight Sons project. He wants to see how the character deals with working with others.
Blade Allegedly Forms Midnight Sons
Daniel Richtman, a reliable source, says that Marvel Studios’ planned reboot of Blade will set the stage for a Midnight Sons crossover project. Richtman had said before that Marvel was making a Midnight Sons movie for February 2024, and that composer-turned-director Michael Giacchino (Werewolf by Night) was going to direct.
There has been a lot of trouble with making the Blade remake since Marvel Studios announced it at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019. Blade’s plot has been changed several times, and the most recent draft is said to take place in the present day MCU. Mahershala Ali will play Blade again after having an appearance as Blade in the 2021 movie Eternals. Mia Goth has been cast as the main bad guy, who is said to be Lilith, Mother of All Demons. It is said that Blade will start shooting in the fall of 2024.
