Gen V Season 2 is on the way, but let’s be honest: it’s having a rough time right now. The Boys spin-off had to delay filming because star Chance Perdomo died. In the end, the decision was made to keep going with the show without recasting Perdomo’s character, Andre.
Even after season 4 of The Boys came out, it was close for a while, but don’t worry, people. There will be a new season of one of the best shows on Amazon Prime. We saw a surprise trailer at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, and work is still going on! Here is everything you need to know before the second season of Gen V. Here is the most up-to-date information on the next trip to Godolkin University, including rumors about the story and the release date, as well as news about shooting.
Release Date of Gen V Season 2:
There is still no clear date for when Gen V season 2 will come out. The show was supposed to start filming in late March or early April, but their death in May pushed the start date back to May. However, it looks like shooting began again on July 16 because X from the Gen V account wrote in a post that it was “Class is in session.”
Since season 1 came out about a year after the first shows were filmed, we’re still sure that Prime Video will aim for a mid-2025 release date. Stay tuned for news.
The Cast of Gen V season 2:
Before he died, Perdomo was supposed to be in Gen V season 2 with Jaz Sinclair (Marie), Derek Luh/London Thor (Jordan), Lizze Broadway (Emma), Maddie Phillips (Cate), and Asa Germann (Sam). There might also be cameos from other characters in The Boys.
Since then, Prime Video has said again that Andre Anderson will not be replaced.
A statement on social media says, “As we continue to deal with the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to honor his memory.” “The part won’t be filled by anyone else because Chance is already taken.” We’ve been using the extra time and room to rewrite the stories for season 2 before we start filming in May. This season, we will celebrate Chance and his life.
Marco Pigossi (Dr. Edison Cardosa), Dean Indira Shetty (Shelley Conn), and Professor Richard Brinkerhoff (Clancy Brown) are some of the actors who won’t be back after the exciting end of Gen V season 1. In the same way, Luke Riordan, aka Golden Boy (Patrick Schwarzenegger), might be guilty, even though he only appears in episode 8 as a sign of Sam’s guilt and many times in season 1. We think he’s a lock to be back for season 2 because of all of that.
An exciting new actor, Hamish Linklater, has joined the group. He will play the part of Cipher. In the new season, Chance Crawford will also play The Deep. We also think that Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie) and Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit), two characters from The Boys, will be back since their cameos turned into more important parts of the story near the end of season 1.
Another star from The Boys has also said he wants to be in the spin-off. “I’ve already talked to [Eric] Kripke about it,” Karen Fukuhara, who plays Kimiko, told The Direct. “I’m not sure how, but I think Frenchie and Kimiko need to show up in some way.” They must be on a job somewhere in that world, right?”
Gen V Season 2 – Plot Details and Predictions:
Gen V season 1 ends on a huge cliffhanger, with Cate and Sam turning Godolkin University, or maybe even the whole world, on its head. After freeing The Woods, Cate and Sam set the previously jailed Supes on a killing spree across campus. Marie and her friends are told to stop them, and they almost do until Homelander shows up and uses a laser blast to control Marie.
We find out that Marie, Emma, Jordan, and Andre were portrayed as the college killers on a global news feed, while Cate and Sam were shown as the real heroes. This is probably something Cate made up with her superpowers to control people. All of this sounds a lot like season 4 of The Boys, so it’s clear that there will be a crossing.

In fact, Eric Kripke, who runs the show, has already said that Gen V season 2 will happen right after The Boys season 4. At the end of season 4 of The Boys, many things were revealed. For example, Butcher ran away with the Supe-killing virus, and Martial Law was established. We’re interested to see how Gen V season 2 adds to the world before The Boys season 5 comes out. We’ll let you know when we get more information!
When can we expect Gen V Season 2 to Air?
Prime Video hasn’t said when Gen V season 2 will officially start, but the first season came out on September 29, 2023. It was originally planned for production to begin in April 2024, but after the death of Chance Perdomo, who played Andre Anderson on the show, production was moved to May 2024. Based on that information, the show should be available on the service by the summer of 2025.
Has the Trailer for Gen V Season 2 Been Released?
Not yet, nope. That wouldn’t be a good idea yet. The video will be added to this post as soon as it comes out, though. But for now, here’s a cute video of the cast of “Gen V” responding to the news that the show will be back for a second season.
What is the Connection Between ‘Gen V’ and ‘The Boys’?
Many fans of “The Boys” got another Vought treat in “Gen V.” The episode also set up tips for show-colliding and new plots for viewers to look forward to. Most of the changes that happen between the two shows will happen after Gen V Season 2 and “The Boys” Season 4. At the end of “Gen V,” the bridge from “The Boys” to “Gen V” began.
At the end of Season 1 of “Gen V,” in the middle of the credits, the show cut to a scene where Billy the Butcher is sneaking through God U’s secret lab, The Woods. This showed that “The Boys” character knows about the virus that God U dean Indira Shetty (Shelley Conn) and Dr. Edison (Marco Pigossi) created before they were killed. Victoria Neuman killed Dr. Edison, and Cate killed Indira.
Author of “The Boys,” Eric Kripke, told TheWrap that he came up with the idea for Butcher to be the link between “The Boys” and the Super-killing virus that was introduced in “Gen V.”
Kripke said, “We were pretty far into the Season 4 break by the time we got to [the Gen V] finale, and we kind of knew how we were going to pick up the ball.” “We talked about, ‘well, we should start the first step of that story.’ It’s not too much of a spoiler to say that, since it’s clear from the ending of ‘Gen V,’ but Butcher is very aware of this virus in Season 4 of ‘The Boys,’ and we knew we were writing to that. After that, someone asked, “How does he know? When did he find out the news?” We began to say, “Let’s show [viewers] when it’s really happening, which is during the ‘Gen V’ period.” That’s how it naturally came about.
Breaking down the Shocking “Gen V” Season 1 Finale:
The season 1 end of “Gen V” was packed with a lot of things. In Episode 8, called “The Guardians of Godolkin,” all hell broke loose on the campus of Godolkin University after Cate and Sam, two very powerful people, went bad and freed the Supes who were being experimented on in The Woods. This let them kill any human they came across or any opposing Supe who stood in their way of getting revenge.
When Homelander came in, Marie had already blown up Cate’s arm for trying to mind control Jordan. It looked like he flew down to clean up, but first he had a question for Marie. He might be up to more bad things than they seem at first.
“What kind of animal are you?” Do you like going after other people like you? “Hunter, stay back,” he tells her before shooting Marie with his laser vision.
The scene then changed to Homelander being happy as he watched the news. It said that Cate and Sam are “The New Guardians of God U.” When Marie woke up, she, Jordan, Andre, and Emma were all in a hospital-like building with no doors. They had no idea how they got there, just like the last time Cate erased their memories.
