Prime Video’s long-awaited cartoon show Hazbin Hotel finally got a full season in 2024, and it has already been picked up for a second season. The show, which was created by Vivienne Medrano, is about Charlie Morningstar, who is the princess of Hell and dreams of opening a hotel for sinners where they can heal their souls so that the underworld doesn’t end because it’s too crowded. Even though Hazbin Hotel has some crazy, high-concept ideas, it shines because of its catchy songs, likeable characters, and interesting use of animation to tell its story.
The first episode of Hazbin Hotel was posted online in 2019. The pilot didn’t go anywhere for years, but it gave the show’s author, Vivienne Medrano, time to work on other projects. Thanks to Amazon Prime Video, Hazbin Hotel Season 2 finally got a second chance. It was even picked up for a second season before the first one even ended. That trust was repaid when Hazbin Hotel quickly broke Prime Video records and became the most-watched animation show on the service. Because of this, people are already getting more and more excited for Hazbin Hotel Season 2.
Hazbin Hotel Season 2 News and Updates:
As we wait for the highly awaited second season, new information confirms that Hazbin Hotel will eventually look into Alastor’s past. The famous secondary character will eventually become the main character, as revealed by the show’s creator, Vivienne Medrano, at San Diego Comic-Con 2024. But Medrano didn’t give any specifics. She also wasn’t clear on when fans could expect to see more of Alastor’s story.
Medrano revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that Hazbin Hotel season 2 will go deeper into Hell and add even more to the world-building. She confirmed that Vox will be the main bad guy in season 2 and said she’s “really excited about what other parts of Hell we can explore.” Medrano talked about her long game, which may have been the most interesting thing she said. It sounds like there is a longer story that spans seasons 3 and 4.
When Will Hazbin Hotel Season 2 Be Released?
Fans can be sure that the people who make Hazbin Hotel have known for a while that there will be a second season, even though there isn’t an official date yet. When the first Hazbin Hotel preview came out, it came with the news that Season 2 had already been given the go-ahead. Because of this, once the promotion for the first season was over, the show’s makers could start planning the next season knowing that they would be creating it in the end. Fans won’t have to worry about the second season not being able to live up to the standards set by the first. If anything, the fact that Amazon accepted a second season of the show before the first one even aired shows how much they believe in it. This suggests that the pitch for Season 2 was very good.
It looks like making the Hazbin Hotel Season 2 will take between one and a half and two years. This is about the same amount of time that went into making the first season. Even though Amazon picked up the show in 2020, it didn’t air until 2022. There were a lot of reasons for this. A big reason for the delay was the Hollywood Actors’ and Writers’ Strike, which lasted most of 2023 and happened around the time the show was meant to come out to the public.
So, if everything goes as planned and nothing surprising happens in the entertainment business, fans can look forward to the Hazbin Hotel Season 2 airing in late 2025 or early 2026. Even though it seems like a long way off, that won’t matter to people who love this show because they’ve been waiting for more than four years for this personal dream to come true and become the show it is today.
What Cast Members Are Confirmed for Hazbin Hotel Season 2?
Most of the actors from Season 1 of Hazbin Hotel will likely be back for Season 2.
Fans already know that Erika Henningsen’s Charlie Morningstar will be back for more scary fun. Henningsen wrote online that she was back in the recording room in January 2024. This means that Lucifer’s daughter will be back in Season 2 as a main character.
Vaggie (Stephanie Beatriz), Charlie’s sassy girlfriend and close friend from her home country, is also likely to join her. So will Angel Dust (Blake Roman), the show-stopping singer at the Hazbin Hotel, and Alastor (Amir Talai), who has a powerful detuned voice.
A full list of all the stars and characters who are likely to be back for Hazbin Hotel Season 2 following:

There will also be a new voice character in Season 2 of Hazbin Hotel, which is when Lillith shows up in this cartoon version of Hell. Fans know that Lillith is coming, but no information about who will play the Queen of the Underworld has been made public.
What Can We Expect from Hazbin Hotel Season 2?
After Heaven’s annual “Extermination” failed at the end of Season 1, Season 2 of Hazbin Hotel will be a big one. Even though Charlie and her friends were able to keep the Underworld’s monsters safe for another year, she still has work to do. Even though heaven is a mess, there are other dangers on the way.
Lillith is the biggest of these new chess pieces that are going to stand out. For years, the Queen of the Underworld has been living in safety in Heaven. But, as hinted at in the Season 1 end, she seems ready to get involved in the politics of her fiery home again.
A focus on a few smaller Season 1 characters is one of the plot points that will be explored in Season 2.
Once-Friendly Faces May Become Significant Threats
One of the biggest hints about Season 2’s plan is that figures from Season 1 will play a bigger part as bad guys. This could now mean any number of characters. Vox and the other Vees didn’t get nearly as much screen time as fans thought they would. One more thing: Lute, Adam’s old captain, is now in charge of the Exorcist Angels and is mad at Charlie for losing the Season 1 end. Of course, there is also Charlie’s mother Lilith, who has been hiding in Heaven for seven years and is always a mystery. The secret of Lilith and what she does is one of the show’s main riddles.
The Vees are most likely going to be the biggest threat in Hazbin Hotel Season 2. A lot of the time, Vox and his friends stayed out of the way and watched to see how Charlie and her friends would do. They were mostly worried about Alastor, though. By killing Adam, Charlie and her staff proved that they are skilled enough for other demons to believe them. This could mean that her hotel will become a competitor to the Vees’ business. Together with Vox’s well-known dislike of Alastor, this is what will likely drive them to become bigger enemies of the hotel and its efforts to save sinners.
If things go as planned, this will be a great way for the show to avoid having the same fight between Heaven and Hell as in the first season. Even though the current conflict is still going on—Lute is clearly trying to change things to make Charlie fail—the next conflict should focus on the relationships and power struggles among the local demons. This could help the show learn more about Hell and its history.
Introducing New Characters and Exciting Plot Twists
One thing that fans love about this show is that the characters really do change over time. Following the events of the first season, the main group has undergone major changes. Vivziepop says that Charlie will be more ready to own her role as Princess of Hell, if not her own power, and she is surer of her dream of being forgiven. A shocking change from the young woman at the beginning of the series who was scared of upsetting someone by chance.
For the first time in a long time, it looks like the show will finally start to explain what sent most of the group to Hell in the first place. Vivziepop made it clear that the Hazbin Hotel Season 2 will focus on Sir Pentious and how he got into Hell, exploring his flaws in more depth. Fans who have been following these characters’ stories since the beginning are thrilled by this news. They have seen how they have changed over time but never knew the whole story of these characters.
Lastly, the show will use the chance to bring in new characters. Vivziepop kept fans interested while the show was still looking for a home by giving out little tidbits of information about characters and story points that were coming up. A lot of figures that fans have been waiting for still haven’t shown up. For example, the much-loved “mad scientist” Baxter or the young demon Crymini are still missing. No one knows for sure if these figures will show up, but every character in this cartoon world has a long history and complicated reasons for doing what they do. When Hazbin Hotel Season 2 comes out, fans will have a lot to look forward to.
