Sometimes it becomes very hard to identify the difference between love and attachment. At times, the lines get so blurred that you can’t really register what is happening around you.
However, the difference between attachment and true love is pretty clear.
Attachment is toxic, it is all about feeling incomplete without someone. It’s needing. It is more about not being able to live without them. It is about thinking that they are the sole reason why you are on this planet.
Love is pure. It’s slow and delicate. It’s not deliberate, you fall in love without even realizing it. It is being okay without that person, allowing them to have their own space. It is selfless. All about desiring the best for that person even it means not being a part of their life anymore. It’s about acceptability. Realizing that what might be the best for you, might not be the best for them.
Attachment is Tenacious
Attachment is having thoughts of them 24/7. It’s about making someone the nucleus of your life and ignoring other relationships. It is about not imagining your life without them. It’s about having the fear of losing them all the time. It is always being curious about your future with them.
Love is Leap of Faith
It’s about believing what is meant to be will be. It’s about being happy with all of your loved ones, your friends, your family and also about enjoying your own company. It is about not being afraid of losing someone or your future with them because you are confident in that love.
Attachment Is Ignoring The Other Person’s Flaws
Attachment is idolizing someone and thinking of them as perfect/ flawless creatures. It’s about thinking that they can never do anything wrong. It is about defending that person even if they hurt you. It’s about closing your eyes to any/everything negative about them.
Love is Arguing
It is fighting over things that matter. It is about acknowledging  the other person’s flaws and accepting them for who they are. It is about having arguments over things that matter. It’s about communicating your problems and celebrating differences.
Attachment is Easy but Fake
Attachment is selfish. It’s more about you. It involves insecurities and self hatred.
Love Is Hard work
It’s demanding. It requires compromise. It’s about tears and swear. It’s about arguments and makeups.
Attachment Is Dangerous
It operates on surface level communication. It is toxic. It is about believing that they are the only important thing in your life and everything else is redundant.
Love Is Healthy
Love is allowing them to leave if that is what is required. It is about allowing the fate take it’s course. It is accepting that it’s okay if it doesn’t work out (even if it hurts like hell) because you know this for a fact that love will come again and you will be fine.
